Morning all,
Quiet here. My son's family left yesterday and the other kids are at my SIL's parents. The trains will be silent today.
A cloudy, gray day here. High of thirty four later.
Finally received my Medicare card and number, so I need to do some work with that in the next day or two.
Will listen to the Patriots game later, otherwise a day of rest after all the activity of the last few days.
Jeff
Good morning Jeff and all that check in today. We Have Good New Today;
The official announcement will be made sometime this week but we are indeed having a winter challenge as always! We will follow same rules as the 2024 challenge and even though we are starting late we will call it the 2025 Winter Challenge. Once again there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and third but the real push will be just having partisapation so we will have a prize for all who participate as well! It will run through April 15, 2026. So dust off the project you always wanted to share and let the fun begin.
Happy New Year
Jim
Sigh... I still haven't finished last year's Winter Challenge (SRMW's Lamson & Goodnow). The buildings are built, but they're not planted, because I need to do a lot of scenery behind the kit.
I finished the HOn30 boxcar kit yesterday, spraying it with a matte finish and adding the brake wheel. Now I need to dust off another shelf orphan for my next project. There are a couple of choices: The NESL passenger car, where I need to do the roof using the custom-cut part. Rebuild the ball signal to make it more sturdy. Restart the refinery project by figuring out how to do the horizontal stills (that's a 3D printing project, I'd need to work with someone who has 3D printing expertise). Install backdrops and then complete the Oil Well Supply Company compound (the Machine Shop is a big part of that scene).

Afternoon all.....
