Title: Monday February 16,2026
Post by: Jim Donovan on February 16, 2026, 12:49:04 PM
Well happy Presidents Day. For us retired it is yet another Saturday. Cold front with some weather came through last night. We sure need the water so that was welcome. Today gray and cool but rest of the week is suppose to go back into the 70's.

I cleaned up the work bench, got another part printed for bridge project and even helped mop the floor so I get my gold star this morning. Some more bench time I think and perhaps a nap. Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy President's Day to you all down south, and Family day to us Northerners.  Speaking of family, Tony and his "Family" are having samwiches down at the Pork Store!

I don't remember Family Day from our time in Canada, but that could be it wasn't something all that relevant to us (DINKs...)

Back from PT, I was warned "you'll be sore tomorrow."  I'll head back down to the train room and do some more work on the farmhouse.  I think I'll postpone the decision on house positioning until tomorrow.  Still lots to do on that kit in the meantime, particularly shingles.

Good afternoon, Jim, Darryl, Dave and anyone who looks in later. The lower Merrimack Valley is well above freezing but heavy overcast hadn't melted much when I last was outside.  I've been doing proofreading, sysadmin and looking around my older pictures. Several seemed appropriate for Railroad Reference Photos here.  One will be used when I scenic the Route 1 Overpass area.

Time to go up to the layout, I'll look in again after dinner, maybe with progress photos.

It was 53o 8) with bright sun as I headed home from ops.

LOTS of snow left us during the day.  I can see 1/2 the grass in back for the first time in weeks.  We do all know this is a mental sucker hole, it's only half way thru Feb.  Get real.

OPS was fine.
