Title: Fat Tuesday
Post by: KentuckySouthern on February 17, 2026, 10:45:49 AM
Good late morning from mostly sunny mid Michigan. We have warmer temperatures than average this week and the loss of snow is significant.

Paczki day at the. Bakery. Before they were commercialized this was the only day that they were made, in honor of Fat Tuesday and tomorrow's beginning of lent. Too much money to be made to keep the tradition alive

OPS went well at Kenney's I ran a couple of switching locals and enjoyed everyone there as the day went on.

I noticed a special visitor at the passenger station. You never know what you might see when the layout owner has grand kids  ;D

I think I could get a little more done on the layout if I shuffle the cards right.

So what's up where you're hiding this morning

Cloudy weather, a bit above freezing, chance of light snow or rain.  We're off to a lecture on back surgery in a bit.

When I get back, I'll add the corner posts to the farmhouse, and make a decision about its orientation on the layout.  Get your votes in!  https://modelersforum.com/index.php?topic=7391.90

Good morning, Karl, Dave and those who look in later. My phone thinks the lower Merrimack Valley will get 0.17" of snow through lunch and that's it.  We'll see.  My proofreading is done, now a bit of writing (about 1:1 RR track) before lunch.  The reality of commercially plastic parts has collided with the actual bridge I'm working on, and I'm working out what will be a weird solution if I have confidence in it.

Morning All...got a few hours set aside for trains today but it sure is nice outside.

I'm doing inventory of unbuilt kits I'd like to unload today, which I'll share with the locals first and then on here if anyone's interested. I'm getting that spring cleaning vibe...it's very liberating to 'shed' things that you just know you'll never use (and convert them into cash for new stuff I'll never use  ;D)

Afternoon all,

Getting a little workbench time in today. Working on some pallets from Inter-Action Hobbies.

I should thin my stash as well, John. I have way to many kits I'll never get around to using.

Have a great one!

I have at least half a dozen kits which won't fit on my layout. Probably goes for most, if not all of us on this Forum.
