Title: Tuesday, February 24, 2026

Morning, all.

Heat wave, headed to 46 degrees today.

A haircut and trip to Costco are on the morning's agenda.

The challenge kit is finished, except for some touch up and weathering the roof.   Will finish that and update the thread later.

Our plow guy came by in the middle of the night last night (for some reason, he prefers that.  I guess it's no concerns about anyone else on the road while he's plowing.)  We got maybe 8".  South of Boston got hammered.  The location where the Boston Globe's presses are located (Taunton) got something like 28", so they cancelled publication for the first time ever.  Rhode Island is buried, as much as 30".  So one for your grandkids to tell their grandkids about some day...

I'll get back to the farmhouse, it's nearly done.  I also have to head to the store (low on dog food).

I think the official total at the airport in RI was just over 39" of snow.  I probably only got 24 in my part of the state.

Still cold, teens, hazy sun and did I mention cold?

I used to plow snow, used to start 0400ish.  Most folks like it cleared off to go to work or the lot clear once they get to work.  Residential driveways suck, imho, parking lots were easiest.  Made big bucks, $25/hour...(1973 F-250 with a Western plow.  Couldn't get power steering when I bought it new, part supplier issues.  Good way to lose a thumb driving without power. :o Always envied the Highway plow guys.  I'd have paid to do that.  ;D

Just another winter day here.  What modicum of snow we got over the weekend is almost gone again.  Sorry about you folks in the East.

Bench time here I guess.  I'm messing with the bridge/trestle project.

Did I mention it's COLD?

Be well all.  Stay safe in the mess out East.  Patience...

Bet the Globe "management" is wishing they were still on Dorchester (Dahchestah) Ave.
How many folks will realize (or care) there's no Globe today?

Greetings from Honduras Today;

76 temp currently with a nice sea breeze. I'm sitting on the ship deck trying to decide if I want to get off the ship at the port or just enjoy where I am, decisions decisions.

It is interesting to hear the snow reports and glad I am not there. I do plan to do some CAD design later for the bridge project but for now enjoying the view and weather is all I need. Have a great day.

Afternoon all,

Cold here this morning but nothing like the members up North. Currently 60 degrees and I may cut the grass tomorrow. Well, maybe I should work on a model instead.  ;D

Stay warm and healthy my friends.

Evening all,

0" of accumulation here. I don't miss shoveling, snow blowing, driving on icy roads, etc.

Like Tom, I may cut the grass tomorrow (or at least pick up some of the leaves in the yard with the mower). May being the operative work here.

After waffling numerous times I settled on a build that I can do for the challenge and started working on it. It may be a bit before I start a thread because it's got a ton of 3D printed detail parts. I spent today cleaning them up and I want to paint them before I get into the meat of the build. That'll keep me out of trouble for a bit.

Have a great one!
