Title: Sunday, March 29, 2026

Morning all,

Had a great time yesterday with my brother visiting the Davenport train show and a classic car meet.  He's not into trains, but he does have a 1971 Trans Am in his garage that he's restoring as a retirement project.

The only thing I bought was a bottle of Flamingo Glue.

The Hawkeyes lost yesterday in their bid for the final four.  The last time we were there I was in med school.

Supposed to be nice today with a high of 68.  Maybe a walk later.

Good morning, Jeff and later arrivals.  NH seacoast got down to the 20s last night, sunny and headed for 50F now.  I've got an event for the college the kid will start at next Fall this afternoon; Right now it's an hour away, but this century metro Boston has developed Sunday traffic jams.  Time to get moving so I can get something else done this morning.

"College in Boston"   Well, that narrows the choices just a little bit :-)   Wikipedia lists 44 schools in (its definition of) Suburban Boston.

Sunny north of James, with a high of 48 predicted.  Yesterday's Scotch Club was chilly, but there was a big fire.  It was 'bottle kill' time, so small amounts of a lot of stuff to try.  I did get some work in on the grass mat, I'll work some more on that part of the layout today.

Sun  8) temp in upper 30s going to upper 50s.

I share your pain, Jeff.  My guys, as good as they were most of the time didn't deserve to move on.  They need to remove that "most" from their resume'.  When you read about kids being offered $7-9 Million to transfer it's taking a serious swipe at what I think is right.  Our school just got $400 million from CEO of a mortgage outfit so he and wife could have ring side seats, the same month his company put 400 people on the street due to AI.  Not even an alum, not even for education or research, 100% sports.  >:(

OPS was enjoyable at Keeney's yesterday, my old Baldwin ran well as usual except one of the coupler mounts needs some stickum of some sort, I kept tripping over the KD pin.

Today, hmm...???

Be well all.

Morning all...

James, I hope it's Boston University, the finest institution in the world...and a good place to meet a keeper of a wife, imo  ;)

Nothing scheduled for today, so that means I should get some train stuff done...I spent the first part of the day on the NBA forums, arguing with strangers - quality time use  :-\

Have a good day...John

* I just uploaded a big list of kits I'd like to liquidate...I'm an easy mark. Take a look and let me know.

Morning all,

I'm going to try to sit at the workbench today to get things going again on that front.

Dave and John, Nathi has committed to a college convenient to Strasburg and Orbisonia, PA, but they invited us to an event in Dedham, MA, inconveniently on Boston's traffic-plagued "middle belt" highway, Route 128 (featured in the Modern Lovers'  song Roadrunner). There he learned the current President of the college used to work for his girlfriend's grandfather.  I hope the gods of soap opera are NOT watching.
