Coffee is on and the clubhouse open;
I took a group of local modelers down to Orlando to see Tom Lanford's impressive layout. He has already posted photos over on the Geezer Lounge thread so wander over to it if you want to see a bunch of gray hair guys smiling! We had a great time and Tom was his normal gracious self. We were with the Orlando gang for almost 5 hours and hope to host them up here in the Villages in the near future.

Another chilly day here with a high in the 50s.
Glad to hear the Florida gangs' meet up went well.
The backdrops arrived and I need to make a level line on the present backdrop and figure how I'm going to pkut them up by myself. Need to get some black paint to cover the top of the present backdrop as well. That will probably work out over the next few days. Hope to finish the Barber shop today, and watch the Red Sox who can't seem to score any runs.

37, feels like 34 and patchy grey blanket on top with evidence of sunshine here and there in the northern mitten today. Good day to get some coffee, sip some and then honor the colonials who met the British Army in Lexington and Concord Massachusetts 251 years ago today in what became the American Revolutionary War. We owe those people in a very Big Way....

A spammer got through, I deleted the post. It's constant vigilance, and the forum software doesn't help with its inconsistent treatment of 'privileges' for moderators.
Anyway, it's raining today, but That's A Good Thing'. In a bit, I'll go down and try to finish my chicken coop I started yesterday.
I really need to find a new wood glue. My supply of NESL Flamingo Glue has gotten old and thick. I tried a couple of carpenter glues, but neither of them had the good initial tack that Flamingo Glue provided, and after the third time the building fell apart after handling it, I just added some clamps and let it sit overnight.
Suggestions wanted!

I use Alene's a lot, Dave. They make a quick/rapid tack variation. I use which ever one I can reach for scenic work, ground cover, etc., a lot.

I switched back to Formula 560 Canopy glue after my Pink Flamingo glue aged out. Partly because it works well and partly because the local Hobby Lobby has it in stock.

Dave, I have always liked and use "Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Glue". I really like the quick stick it has, dries with little residue, and has the right consistency when put in quilling bottles for application. I always set my bottles upside down with the pin in them and see very little drying out or clogging.
I poured some sample glues into little dropper bottles that I have. There's an Elmers product that I think is similar to the Scotch glue, I needed to thin that a little bit to get it to flow out of the bottle. So I'll be trying that, Canopy Glue, slightly thinned old Flamingo Glue, and maybe some others, over the next couple of weeks.
