Title: huge blast of spam applications the last couple days
Post by: deemery on May 21, 2026, 09:15:30 AM
About 50 in 3 days, all coming from the same IP address (146.19.125.69 (https://modelersforum.com/index.php?action=trackip;searchip=146.19.125.69)) , all sitting in the 'unapproved' bin waiting for Keep It Rusty to 'terminate with extreme prejudice' the applications.  Unfortunately, my moderator privileges don't allow me to delete spammers, all I can do is not approve them.

VPN search says they are in the Netherlands, that's a shame

Yuck! Thanks for moderating Dave. Glad to have you doing it.

Speaking of spam, I'm tired of nonsense suspicious phone calls and text messages. Anyone who sends me a text about making an offer on my house, inspecting my roof, trimming my trees, etc. gets blocked and reported as spam. I don't jump to answer the phone unless I see it's someone I know or I'm expecting a call from.  >:(

Yeah...   Tuesday, when I was in recovery from the cataract operation waiting for my wife to show up, I got a call.  Turns out to be one of those damnfool "you owe taxes" scams.
