Title: Monday, May 25, 2026
Post by: Zephyrus52246 on May 25, 2026, 12:20:25 PM
Morning all,

The kids have left and I'm enjoying the quiet.

Headed to 85, already 83 degrees.  Probably a walk soon, but I haven't done one in a week so probably short.

My backdrops are due to arrive tomorrow, so will start putting them up soon.

Memorial Day today.  Never forget those that gave their lives for our freedom.

Jeff

Afternoon all,

We have company in the house so not much got done this weekend. They'll be heading out this afternoon so I hope to get a little workbench time in later.

Have a great one!

Good afternoon, Jeff, Bob and onlookers.  It rained almost an inch on the lower Merrimack Valley from yesterday through late morning. 50F early on, but after the clouds departed eastbound, it's been sunny and warmed up to the 70s.  I'm done paying bills (between health insurance cuts and inflation, about 50% up from 2024) so time to take my sweater off and open more windows.  Lawn needs mowing but it's still too soggy.

Nobody from my High School class died in US military service, but one lost his son in Afghanistan.  And several friends came home with life-changing injuries.

A late evening check in. Just wanted to thank all that have served to keep our country safe. Deb and I were at the Florida National Cemetery yesterday helping place flags on each grave and thanking each personally for their service. It was amazing, there are over 200,000 graves and the outpouring of volunteers to help was such that we arrived at 9:30 am and the entire cemetery was completed by 10:30. We had expected to be needed for the entire day. I would say Americans are still very much proud of our country and especially to those who serve. I wish everyone a great Memorial Day this 250th year of the Union.
