Good Morning;
I've opened the clubhouse. Windows open, coffee cooking and donuts ready. We have have a couple of really nice days in Florida, almost early fall New England type weather. Starting the same today but I'm told will get warmer later.
Anyhow, I have group modeling at a friends house today but not much else at this point. Think I will enjoy the coffee, it is good today. Hope you have a great day too.
Jim
Morning all.....
Morning all,
Headed to 85 today. Things look wet outside so we must have gotten some much needed rain. Maybe more tonight.
Maybe a walk this morning. I will attempt to place the next backdrop piece up as well.
Jeff
Well, I went out last night about 10:00. It was a nice clear night, but not Aurora. (There's been a trend to add decorative lighting in the neighborhood, that makes it harder to see what's actually in the sky. I'm not participating in that trend.)
Eye #2 happens Tuesday morning, so I've started the eyedrop prep for that. In the meantime, I continue to struggle reading and 'computering'....

Good morning, Jim, Greg, Dave, Jeff and later arrivals. Dave, as it turned out my wife wanted to make the oh-dark-thirty after-the-prom run so I didn't get a look at the sky.
The lower Merrimack Valley was down to the low 60s last night; I opened the windows to capture some of it. As the sun takes us towards 89F, I'll close the windows and shutters to keep the cool in. I've got paperwork to do but also need to clean off and tune up the layout for Saturday's visitors. Given the temperature, the layout comes first.
Good morning all,
I just picked out a small FOS kit (the Lucky Seven Tavern) to work on. Given it's one that, the now happily retired, Dr. Jeff has already documented in an excellent build thread on I won't bother documenting the build. I promise I'll do a thread on whatever comes afterwards. ;)
Dave, you're making me realize how lucky I was when I got my eyes done. I had no issues. Good luck with eye number two.
We leave for out Sunday morning. Orlando to Chicago and then on to Zurich. We'll get there on Monday. That's the worst part of the trip. I can't wait to get there but I'm not looking forward to the travel part of the trip. The first day, of course, will involve getting settled into the hotel and recovering from jet lag and time zone changes. If last year's trip is any indication that won't be too bad. It was bad when we returned home. I guess the excitement of starting a new adventure helps overcome any weariness at the front end of the trip.
Have a great one!
Bob, I've done a lot of trips across the pond. Here's my advice for jetlag:
1. Avoid caffeine on the plane until breakfast. (And remember, some teas have more caffeine than coffee.) Go very light on the alcohol.
2. Try to sleep. I've used melatonin to help, take a pill with dinner. After dinner, turn out the lights and chill out. Noise cancelling headphones are great. If there's a movie you want to see, start it during dinner and try to finish as early as possible.
3. When the airplane lights come back on for breakfast before landing, that's the time for caffeine...
4. Once you're at the hotel and checked in, go for a walk. Try to stay active as much as possible, and don't go to sleep before 8:00 or so. Eat lightly the first day.
5. The 2nd day is often the hardest. Again, stay active, eat a light lunch and avoid the temptation to take an afternoon nap. A full dinner is OK.
Gute Reise!

No Aurora here, either, but still some light in the sky after 11 pm

I love this time of the year.
