Title: Friday, June 12, 2026
Post by: Zephyrus52246 on June 12, 2026, 08:23:16 AM
Morning all,

Sunny with a high of 84 today.  I'll mow later after it dries out and I pick up the thousand sticks in the yard from all the storms.  Need to get gas for the mower first.

Hope to finish the last of the floor cleaning today and maybe a walk as well.

Another hot and humid day in SE NH.  I wish you Floridians would keep your weather down there!

Today I'll probably head back to WalMart and try yet another pair of readers in a different strength for the computers.  I think the +2.00 I'm using now is actually too strong.   Fortunately, they're cheap.  But in the meantime, I'm still on the 14 eyedrops/day routine.

Weather report from the mid-Atlantic states: currently 85 degrees F headed to 91. Chance of showers around 2 PM. Great day to keep the AC at 75 degrees and hide out in the basement. What to to there?

Hasn't hit 70o yet this morning ater another big blast of nasty overnight.  Bright, sunny and calm here this am.

Plans haven't been firmed for today.  Misc busy work.

Nice respite from 90o and no power.  Some real dramatic sounding Tornado warnings last evening but while I did take a break in the cellar we had no damage, just wind and rain.  There were twisters and straight line winds damaging things all over.

All there is here.

Well, I've been playing "dollar store optometrist" and finally found the right reader glasses (1.50).  Or if not 'perfect', at least good enough to work for both computer and books.  That's a relief!

Good evening, all. I'm within sight of the old NYC Mohawk & Malone Division main line, and it looks lovely (from a trackman's perspective) but there won't be any trains over it till tomorrow.  I'll check the website for schedule, we're 6+ hours from home so I can't dawdle in the morning.

The closest I came to railfanning on the outward trip was hearing a CPKC freight go north past Ft. Ticonderoga as we waited for the ferry.  Although I did like the looks of the Vermont Railway's RoW between Ludlow and Rutland and saw the preserved cabooses along the old Claremont & Concord in NH;
