Title: Friday, June 26, 2026
Post by: Zephyrus52246 on June 26, 2026, 09:12:36 AM
Morning all,

Friday already?  Where did the week go?

Cloudy with a chance of rain this morning and a high of 75.

The grandkids will head off to see their other grandparents today, so the trains will get a rest.

Hope to get a walk today as I haven't for several days.

Foggy lifting but still overcast and hazy here in Michigan.  Temp going to 70s, will be going to 90s, as high forecast, as 96o one day.  Think we'll retreat Northward Sunday or Monday.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Good mornin' Greg... ;)

Light rain, 65, here in SE NH.  My friend visiting family in Utrecht is experiencing 99 degree weather.  The family house doesn't have A/C, and that's 30 degrees above normal.

Yesterday, instead of working on lighting, I spent more time cleaning out the unfinished part of the basement, and hauled a lot of cut-up cardboard to the curb for recycling.  Then I watched a bit more World Cup...  I didn't stay up to watch the US/Turkiye game.  Today's plan is to get back to lighting once the cleaners are done.

Morning all,

Continued hot and humid today. It's Florida. What else would you expect?

The heat was just starting in Europe the last two days of our trip. We were in Nuremburg when it hit 95. We had two excursions that day. The first was a combination bus/walking tour of Nuremburg in the morning. It wasn't too warm yet and that was nice. The second, was a tour of the underground tunnels where artwork was hidden during the war. That was nice and cool. Also, very interesting.

Have a great one!

A tasty one!   ;D

I don't recall the name but, it was a red beer they had on tap. It might be Tucher but I'm not 100% certain.

I'm sure it's Tucher, it's probably illegal to put another vendor's beer into a labeled glass.  But looking at the Tucher website, I see they make a bunch of different brews.  https://www.tucher.de/unsere-biere/  So probably Yours was probably the "Traditional Nürnberger Rotbier."  As a barley beer aged in oak, that sounds like the beer equivalent of a blended Scotch :-) :-)

Our original Tucher Nürnberger Rotbier reflects the Nuremberg brewing art and is brewed according to a unique recipe. With four types of malt each, we brew our rotbier as full beer and strong beer. The powerful strong beer is stored in oak barrels for fine maturation. After the storage period, our brewmasters decide purely with the sensors whether and above all which wooden barrel-mounted strong beer may be married with the full beer. The result is a balanced, yet powerfully lively red beer of a special kind.  (Translation from Safari...)

Evening, all. Dave, I may have passed through Nuremberg a couple of times, but I'm not sure I ever set foot on the station platform.  Maybe in the future.  My cousin in Oberfranken is very much in the "beer shed" of Kulmbach, so I'm not surprised to have never seen a Tucher beer. Also maybe in the future.  It looks like an interesting place, Bob, though less so at 95F.
