Morning all,
Our heat index will be over 100 degrees later today.
I did take a mile walk yesterday, knee bothered a little and is pretty good this morning. No walk today as grandchildren will come over sometime and trains will be running.
Received a Walthers Proto GP7 from Midwest Models "used" category yesterday and I wish all my locos ran as well. I'm sure the grandson will run it at top speed all over the layout so it will get a true test.

Good Morning;
Jeff sounds like you have a great day ahead of you. For us in Central Florida it is overcast, muggy and most likely some rain this afternoon. Yesterday we got about 2 inches, I had to lower the pool, the auto overflow could not keep up. Yesterday I got the lights working on the first floor of the pickle company build, today will work on second floor and the outer area. Got my walk in early today and finishing my third cup of coffee so time to get cleaned up. Have a great day everyone.

Morning all.....
Morning all,
Back from our trip to PA. We should have been home before noon yesterday but didn't get in until after 7 in the evening. Sitting at the gate in the airport for hours on end is no fun. >:(
Have a great one!
Morning All. Supposed to be in the mid 90's today here in the northeast corner of Mass. with the humidity. I've done my few errands already this morning, so I'll find something to keep me busy where it's cool. Raymo
Good afternoon, all. My NH Seacoast forecast has been revised to the high 80s. My phone thinks it's sunny but an hour or two ago our sky turned overcast, rather orange with smoke apparently from fires in northern Canada. Reminds me of a rather horrifying flight in 2023 where the smoke was up to 40,000 feet NNW of Hudson Bay with flames visible on the ground.
Off to the airport in a bit to pick up the returning hiker. He and his friends made it almost all the way around Mont Blanc, but bad weather closed the high trails on their last day, so it ended with a train ride.

How sad, have to settle for a train ride.

He didn't seem sad at it ending that way. The plan was 5 consecutive days hiking, 1 day off, then another 5 hiking. He missed the last day, because of a lightning storm, but I don't think they had any doubt they could have done it had the trail been safe. He had a lot to say about the different countries and cultures, the people they met on the trail and in the hotels/huts, and how his next hike will be a Presidential Traverse. He may have to do it in one shot as last-minute AMC Hut reservations are scarce in high summer.
