Another day of heat warnings with a "feels like" over 100 this afternoon. Will have similar through Saturday.
I have a very needed haircut appointment this morning. Otherwise no plans for the day.
Many trains were run yesterday. My son in law took them back over to his parents for the night and the next few days. They'll return one day this weekend before they go back to Oregon. No track issues, a few derailments (mainly due to running against turnouts), and a mystery steamer which ran fine the first time, now just starts and stops. Brass is so fun to run. ::)

Hope all are well. I've been 'distracted' from the hobby, but I'm suddenly back in - just in time to get a good dose of momentum prior to the National Narrow Gauge Convention in early Sept (in Minneapolis). Hope to see some of you there.
I just contacted some of the craftsman kit re-sellers to see if they wanted to help me convert some of my stock of unbuilt kits for cash to re-invest elsewhere in the hobby ;D...hopefully, that works out for all parties involved. I'm really not interested in listing, shipping, negotiating, etc them individually on eBay or elsewhere, I'm just looking for a quick and painful (?) move forward.
I'll post some layout photos soon as I am primarily doing infrastructure-ish stuff like lighting. I did lay track and connect ONE set of feeders and those incredible Blackstone steamers run beautifully right out of the dusty box on the dirty rails...they are so forgiving, which is perfect for me and my style of tracklaying, wiring & 1/87 civil engineering ::)

:P Weird amber density to the overcast skies here in UP. The temp at 70. Actual temperature surpassed the dashboard indicator was at 99o for awhile yesterday :P
Taking everyone out to dinner later for the first B'day, mine #78, this evening. No other plans.

It's VERY hazy here from Canadian fires. I had to turn the lights on sitting in the living room. The good thing is the haze seems to be keeping temperatures down a bit. The bad thing is my new eyes really feel the particulates.
Other than that, nothing to report. Our monthly lunch group is today, maybe when I get back I'll think about ground cover on the area I recently covered with Scuplptamold over the plaster wrap.

Having grandkids and kids over is what makes it worthwhile. Cuse glad yoiu are back at it. As for Central Florida, same hot, muggy and the Sahara sand makes the sky hazy. I need to get my walk in and then I can enjoy some quality time in the workshop. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon. Like Dave said, the northeast is covered in a haze from the Canadian fires. Sometimes it's a greyish orange, or like now a cream-colored sky. Went to my local hobby supply shop this morning and for the 3rd time they didn't have any of the Bob Smith C.A. that I use. Ended up ordering from an online store instead. Anyway, time to feed the animals, Raymo

Good evening, all. The Canadian wildfire smoke came and went a couple of times while I was working at Seashore. Didn't bother me then but now I find myself coughing. Good progress on getting the rails to fit, hopefully my job will stand up to my partner Dana's scrutiny tomorrow.
