Howdy!
I began to mow the yard yesterday after I got off work but it began to rain on me so I had to stop. That means I'll be doing yard work today. Oh well, so it goes.
I was digging through some old photos on my phone and found the two I've included here. This was prompted by a scene I saw at the 2026 NMRA National Train Show in Chattanooga last weekend. I have a photo thread here (https://modelersforum.com/index.php?topic=7707.0) for some photos I took at the show.
I have not seen this kit since I bought it at the Timonium, MD show back in 2019. It builds up into a cool structure and it doesn't take much more than a hill to turn it into a nice diorama like the on I made. What's one kit you've built that you have not seen for sale in a while?

Interesting question, Jaime. Doug has listed on ebay some of his old kits. I always liked the Drake theater one, but I'm not paying $300 for one.
Cloudy and headed to 83 here with possible rain later. I may need to mow again soon as with the rain and the heat the grass is exploding.
No plans for today, we'll see what happens train wise.

Morning all. Still feeling the heat here on the mucky Merrimack. Doug had recently posted his catalog from 2006 or 07 and it had a photo of the Gruber Glass building. I had forgotten that I have one of those buried in a box somewhere waiting to be built.
Sunny warm and DRY, yet again in MI. Rain a slight possibility Sun-Mon time frame.
Nice job on the kit, Jaime. I'm not into the expensive kits, beyond my abilities or patience level. I've enough trouble keeping the flow going on less extensive projects. I've never seen a model by that Polar Lights maker. I did a Wicked Wanda's by Art and the crew from Maine at one time.
Not making plans today, been cleaning my work room, that got a wrench yesterday but did make a bit of progress, not that anyone would notice.

Last year it was Laser Modeler 3 Wichendon Machine Shop Kit, one I started in 2012... These days I tend to be "just in time" buyer of kits, because I have too much stuff on the shelf already.
It continues hot and humid, we'll suffer through this for another couple of days. No neighborhood Scotch Club today, several members are on vacation.
Yesterday I started the fence around the orchard. That's going OK. Today I'll plant the apple trees, then finish the fencing. (I did the fence behind the trees, but I don't want to reach over the finished fence to plant the trees.) Pictures maybe later today.

Good morning, all. Dan and Dave speak truth about their and my weather today and forecast through next week. Jamie, the last kit I touched was Full Steam Ahead's North American Bent Chair Co., though my wife did almost all of the actual building. The post-AI curated Internet is uninformative, but I think i picked it up about 10 years ago.

The closest I'm likely to get to modeling today is progress clearing a workbench that isn't in the climate-control-free attic.
Starting point for today:

The fence is installed along the back and the right. The left fence is just sitting loose. The apple trees are installed '4 trees on a sprue' that represents a typical production orchard, with the trees sitting on a raised bed. You can see that dark brown bed on the front row of trees.(ugh) I'll cut the trees from that sprue, figure out how to plant them (drill a hole for a nail?), and then run 2 rows of trees in the orchard. Finally, I'll finish the fence, and add some tufts along the fence line.
Runs in my mind there's a set of apple-picker figures, I'll have to look for them to populate the orchard. add Yeah, there's a Preiser set. But the figures are way too modern for me, and the set is expensive.

Interesting question about kits that have been built but not seen for sale in quite some time. I'll go with the original FOS kit, Big Lou's Diner.
I've been thinking about doing an inventory of my stash and listing them on the forum. Not necessarily thinking about actively selling them but making them available to fellow members in case someone is really searching for something specific (like Drake Theater). I'll never have the space to use them all. Seems a waste to hoard them.
Tail end of the flu. I feel better than I sound. Hope to hit the workbench later.
