OK, I have a question.
How does one post more that 6 pictures to a post? When I use the "Reply" button I only can post a maximum of 6 pictures to the post, yet, I see posts with more than 6 pictures. Can someone share the magic that is required to do this? It would save me multiple posts for construction sequence.

To post more than 6 pictures in a post/reply, you need to use the embedded [ img ] tag (I added spaces in there to keep from confusing the forum software.
For example, this block of text will embed a series of images in the post:

The trick is your image file has to be somewhere out in the internet and you need to reference it by its URL (its web address).
When I paste the block of text above in this reply you see the following:

You can upload your image files to your Gallery here in the forum and then reference those image files by their URL. I believe there was a post long long ago about doing that. I don't use the forum's Gallery to store my images on the internet. Instead, I use my own website.

You should see a "Gallery" icon at the top of the page. You can add images to your Gallery. Once you've done that you can view your image in the Gallery and you should see the "BB Code" towards the bottom. You can copy that text and then insert it in your post.

And as a reminder: It takes the forum software a while to process images. So don't be surprised if you make a post with a bunch of photos, go back to look at it, and you can't see all those photos.

I have no idea -why- this happens (and it's not unique to this forum's software, I've seen similar behavior over at MRH's forum using a completely different software package.)

It's Jim's to say whether there's any limit to the space this Forum has for images. But I really appreciate his generosity, and trim my photos down to about 200 KB to minimize the burden.
Long ago Photobucket, Google Images etc. were offering "unlimited storage". Quite a few members of the old Railroad-Line based their threads on links to outside providers. When the providers' failed to generate the revenue their business plans hoped for, a lot of excellent modeling writing lost most of its utility. IIRC this also hit a number of other commercial and non-commercial modeling and historic websites.

Yeah, ALWAYS keep -2 copies- of your photos. External storage isn't as cheap as it used to be, but it's still cheaper than the pain of 'trusting the cloud' and then watching them dump stuff...

The photo posting bit has been elusive for many years on many forums for many modelers. I vaguely remember making other threads to explain it. Why, I even made a video that showed how to do this very thing on the rr-line forum ! Yes, I too was surprised to find out there were other forums ;D
