There was a bright full moon this morning when I walked the dogs. I trust that will bring clear skies and a great Saturday to all.
Lionel Electric Trains may have been the start of it all for many in the hobby. I never had a Lionel train set. However, many of my friends and acquaintances relate Lionel to model railroads so they often offer me Lionel stuff. On the F&SM there is a reference to Lionel Electric Trains when you first walk into the layout room.

Yesterday I played with a couple tree construction methods. I'll continue work and maybe post a comparison of the results. I'm looking for a method for 'mid-ground trees', that produces good looking trees relatively quickly, because I'll need a lot of them. The idea is to have a row of foreground trees, then mid-ground trees, and then quick background trees, in a depth of about 12"-15".

Morning all,
Chance of rain this morning with a high of 83 later. Yesterday was spent waiting and watching our siding guy come and paint all the nicks they made in the siding. Also had a delivery of water softener salt. The salt guys were fascinated by the layout. We'll see what can get accomplished today.
My brother "traded" the Lionel trains for HO slot cars. We later added trains to that. Avoiding getting the car hit by the train was quite exciting.

Lionel started it all for me. 4-6-4 Hudson to start then added a A-A pair of Alco FAs in Black White Orange New Haven colors. Was a fun little road when I was allowed to set it up. We had "O" track, the heavier weight things. Had dreams of upgrades but never had a permanent set up.
Off to OPS at Keeney's Nashville Road this morning. Fun!

Morning all.....
Good morning, all! I've put bowls of Haralson apples and Summercrisp pears on the counter. The lower Merrimack Valley has been sunny all morning, bringing it to about 74F outside now. I've been helping my wife with a major cleanup/rearrangement of the downstairs, but she's being careful that things don't become unfindable. Laundry to do in a bit, after I walk down to the mailbox.
Seashore is having their Model RR weekend, but Wednesday/Thursday left me tired enough I didn't hit the road this morning. My only model RR activity so far this week is seeing how the Modular Railroading AP certificate lines up with my 37 years as a module person: My two Rowley modules tick all the boxes except 24 sq. ft. area. I'd need to build a third module for that, which could be fit into the last stage of my plan.
