Morning all,
Raining presently(which we really need), headed to 83 later.
We have a meeting at the Social Security office later today to straighten out something on the wife's Medicare.
Layout work today hopefully.

Morning. Just another day here on the Merrimack. I do have a photo though. A run down building in Boston during the depression.
Clouds and light rain, needed, here in MI.
We had a dying spruce tree removed a year ago in front of the house. Had a fellow remove the stump afterward. It left a sizable open area, we cleaned it up and worked on removing some remnants and graded it, then we seeded it and covered it with straw. 2 hours later it rained..nice and gentle. Hoping it gets started before any heavy rains. As Mid Aug to Mid Sept are the ideal time for starting grass in MI we're hopeful.
I also swept loose grass of the yard and trimmed a tree for a tiring day away from the hobby. :P
Ibuprofen is in order today, no other plans, yet.

Brick foundation, so probably built after 1840 or so. Tenements put up around the time of the Civil War? Could the far right building have been a livery stable? I really enjoy old photos, looking at details, guessing purpose, construction dates, etc.

A nice late summer day in Florida. Sun is out but popcorn clouds starting to build. I got the morning chores done, did some half hearted work on the bench now just sitting. Just not sure what I want to get into so sitting. Anyhow hope everyone has a great day,

Dave, I've been getting them from a Facebook page called Boston Mass. Vintage. It's funny you mention a livery stable, Boston had some that were huge.
A productive day! Yesterday afternoon my XTool S1 10w laser cutter showed up. I think I got the last one Amazon had, and it's not on the XTool store, so maybe the last one ever? :-) The laser modules are interchangable. Currently XTool has a 20w (out of stock) a 40w and a 2w IR module for this frame.
Anyway, today I finished setting it up, updated the firmware, and was able to burn stuff with both their XTool Studio application and Lightburn. I did need a bit of help with the Lightburn configuration, but the Lighburn forum is very responsive.
The next step will be to do a bit of experiments to determine cutting speed on various materials, as well as learning Lightburn production tips. I found the Lightburn interface pretty easy to learn from a design/drawing perspective, at least for the relatively simple things I want to do designing structures, etc.

Today I looked over my library of kits, starting (of course) with my FSM collection - some of which is pictured below.
I have a plan. It's time to start building.
Question for those of you with a laser: When you cut clapboard or scribed siding, do you cut it face-up or face-down?
