I wonder what these fellows did when they weren't flagging traffic on the railroad. Did they have other chores in between trains ?

Good morning, Jaime and those on the way. The lower Merrimack Valley is overcast and in the mid-50s now, with sun and mid-60s forecast for midday. Chickens are out and fed, and no Pawpaws to pick up. I'm off for more track work at Seashore in a bit, so I'll put a basket of Beacons on the counter and leave the rest of our apples to my wife.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear a crossing tender had a sideline, but it's drilled into RR employees to be ready for a train on any track at any time. Their shanties usually didn't have toilets but did have dispatcher's line phones to get permission to go down the street or wherever.
Back on home turf. And boy has the 'turf' grown while we were gone. It will be high on the list for To DO today. Most likely will take a bit of sweeping once cut as well. ::)
Trip home went well. It's in the mid 40s here in lower MI and there was frost warning for the UP.
Book keeping and lawn work on for today.

Morning all,
Still raining here, though it looks like it will stop for the rest of the week. My sumps are certainly running a lot. The grass has exploded, but it's too wet to mow. I'll have to set the blade at it's highest tomorrow and then probably mow it consecutive days lowering the blade each time.
Yesterday morning I had an appointment with the orthopedist about my knee. He thinks we need an MRI, which is what I told the PA back in July. ::)
Slow layout work continues, but some progress is being made.

Afternoon all,
Finally finished phase 1 of painting little people. Once the paint has cured I'll hit them with a flat finish. Once that's set I'll give them a wash of thinned black oil paint. Now back to a small kit.

Tomorrow is the day, We will head to LA and catch the ship. Everything is pack and ready to go. A couple of pictures till I get back. Bridgeville Station Scratch built cut on Cricut. This building is located in Bridgeville. It is based on a building I took a picture of long ago. Scratch built with Cricut it is about 14" long. The bottom has full interior details. House in Avella. Built a long time ago old way drilling corners for windows and cutting them out. Photoshopped background. Based on the house that is across from Avella Station. See you all in a while. Tom
