The birthday wishes are appreciated. Today I'm cast aside and the Doll's worshipful first born turns 50 and all attention will be directed his way.  :-X

It was quite smoky driving to town yesterday with the smoke.

This morning the Canadian Death Air is orange and is the odor of a campfire permeates every breath you take.

Off the deck looking Southward.

THE Bridge is dense

Dining out was an adventure last evening. First pick had an hour plus wait to be seated so we went South a couple of miles to the "dive bar" the Doll and I enjoyed last week. We were seated immediately by a table of two families of loud drunks and were subject to a near hour wait to be served as there was just one waitress who also was bar keeper for the day. Oh btw "we're out of whitefish and walleye". Halfway thru the wait they ran out of blue gills, so one of our proud needed to settle for something else, perch. The Doll was happy with that. After the wait and the 'floor show' the drunk's kids were doing the splits while mom and daddy yelled and hollered.  :o  >:( Driving home I dodged 3 deer on the road.

Dinner was enjoyable though, really good and plentiful.

Back at home we had cake and giggles.

This am, the son's current significant other is frying up a ton of bacon and the Doll is burning waffles.  ;) A fine time will be had by all.

Air quality is nose diving all the way to the South state line.

Have a great day all. Stay well breath easy.

"Day from the UP where Canadian DEATH AIR has the air ORANGE with thick hazy soup, much worse than yesterday.  My son in S Michigan just N of the the Indiana border says it has hit there as of sunup this am.

The birthday went well, we had to take an alternative eating place, primary had an hour wait to get a seatso we went to a more "Dive" bar where while seated immediately we had quite a wait for the food as there was another sizeable group, all drunk and super loud, that were ahead of us and the single waitress was tending the bar as well.  All in all everyone enjoyed dinner.

Another B'day today, the Doll's boy turns 50

Thank you everyone! ;D

Its almost Orange out there this morning thanks to ~790 uncontrolled wildfires just N of Lake Superior in Ontario

The 78th trip around the sun is today's landmark.

Kids were out late from their adventure yesterday. Apparently driving after dark drew massive amounts of bugs up into their path. Stepson said they closed off the speed and lane center sensor devices on the Subaru SUV he rented.

Dinner later should be nice if $$$  :D

Enjoy the day all.

Btw it was over 100o yesterday as the car reg 99.for a long time when we were out :P

:P Weird amber density to the overcast skies here in UP. The temp at 70. Actual temperature surpassed the dashboard indicator was at 99o for awhile yesterday :P

Taking everyone out to dinner later for the first B'day, mine #78, this evening. No other plans.

Enjoy the day, breath easy if you can.

"but bad weather closed the high trails on their last day, so it ended with a train ride."

How sad, have to settle for a train ride.

Greetings from the great HOT North. Headed to excess of 100o heat index. High 90s actual temp. The kids and Doll are headed out to Tahquamenon Falls and/or Grand Marias on Lake Superior. I'm staying around'home' with some maintenance and cleaning.

We had 2 rounds of T-storms that left us 3/4" of rain in the gage.

Enjoy the day all.

Stay cool. .

8) Sunny and climbing heat, index in excess of the Century Mark per the forecast.  :-*

House full of folks this am, bacon and eggs being "built from Scratch" and the youngest are planning a trip to the Tahquamenon  Falls. I'm going to bow out, I've a couple projects that need attention.

We had two rounds of storms with 3/4" of rain in the gage this morning. The second storm was a rumor to me as I was in Z-ville  :D

Enjoy the day all. Keep your cool.

Quiet on the beach last evening after a day of home bound 1:1 and supervising the tree guys that thinned out the dead cedars in the view from the deck. The Doll picked up a pair of hanging plants and I hung brackets for them on the deck post

Out picking up final stuff before the influx of family folks.

I still peak in at the Duluth cameras.  Not having too much luck with timing of boats transit times. Sure some neat horn salutes when they transit beneath the lift bridge. I'd love to go there but it's a good 6-8 hours from our Northern Command. Boat watching around the SOO locks is fun too.

Sunny and warm in the North. Forecast is for more heat and humidity today thru the week.

The Doll's crew will be arriving today and the population of Northern Command will go from 2 to 9 for the majority of the week  :o

Enjoy the day all.

That's a lot to absorb. Prayers and best wishes as you work through this.

8) Sun, light breeze and comfortable going to hot to holy s*** hot by Monday as the house fills beyond capacity with relatives intent on violating the 3 day rule...at least 5 birthdays in the next week, here, plus two that aren't going to be here

Currently we're at the garden place. Hanging plants 1/2 off, so we're going to get 2. Or more  :(

Enjoy everyone, be safe
