Railroad-Line Forum was the very first forum I ever joined. And was the only one for me up until about a year ago. I remember when they shut down a couple of years or so ago for a re-vamp. It seemed I had lost my best railroading buddy. I learned a lot there and made some good friends. Here in west Texas, I have yet to find another model railroader so reaching out on the web is a life line to other modelers for me. I'll miss the crew lounge and all the great photos. Maybe RRLF will come back to life in the future.

Take care....John

Good afternoon to all........

I have a drafting project for an old customer to work on today. I'll need today and next Sunday to have it finished on Monday.

Got an e-mail saying my 5 MP4 switch machines are shipping today. I hope to get them and 4 other servo motor turnouts installed next week.

Headed to Plano Texas tomorrow for train show on Saturday. Looking forward to that. I don't need a thing but it is good to get away for a day or so and visit with others who share the hobby. Weather is supposed to be good but turning cold again for the next week. I was out in a tee shirt yesterday.

At my age and with the vehicles I own, I hope to never have to purchase another. No way I would buy a new car these days. It sure pays to do research on the interweb and a lot of good info is available on YouTube. No way I would ever buy an electric car. While an electric car may work well as an intercity commuter vehicle, taking a long trip is out of the question. Just my 2 cents.

Have a great day....John

Is there a topic on this forum for "Layout Electrical"? A topic that includes DCC installs, turnout installs/control etc? LED use and structure lighting.

Thanks....John

Thanks to all who responded to my Friday post. I managed to upload my avatar today. I was not looking all the down on the left side of the screen to the "Update Profile" button. That did the trick. Live and learn.

I hope to get in the train room tomorrow. I have a couple of MP4 switch machines to finish installing and I have 4 servo machines to install. I wish I knew about the MP4 machines several years ago as I like the ease of installation on these machines and find them to be about the least expensive units with the biggest bang for the buck. I have purchased around 50 or so servos and mounting brackets several years ago, so I need to use those. I am using BLOCKsignalling electronics to run my servos. 12 volt power supply and a toggle switch is all I need for the MP4s plus whatever LEDs I use.

Warmer today in west Texas.....high of 50 with plenty of sunshine.

Everyone have a great day....John

I just read where the Rail Road Line Forum has been funded to run through the end of this year . Also some constructive changes are in the works. Good news for some old RRLF members.

While I am glad the Modelers Forum exists, I find it hard to use. I have spent over 3 hours just trying to attach my avatar. I finally just gave up.

Take care....John

Good afternoon to all.

I received a couple of the new NizTrainz Power Bridge, 3 wire Stay-Alives yesterday. These are a "clone" of the ESU 3 wire keep alives at a cheaper price.

Got some real life work to do for several days so no work on the layout.

Found out at post office yesterday that there is a "temporary" price increase on shipping. The clerk said look for it to become permanent soon. Shipping that was $9.80 now costs me $12.60. Oh well.

Its colder than usual here in west Texas. Electric bill will reflect lower temps in higher dollars I'm sure.

Everyone have a great day.......John
