Afternoon all,

Pam took me to IHOP for some pumpkin pancakes this morning.

I've been busy replacing some rotten wood around on the the train shed doors. I had to use my reciprocating saw to cut above the bad wood. The door can't be opened as layout benchwork is up against the inside. The door also opens to the inside.

I've made the repair and now I'm waiting for the sun to hit the area to dry it out.

Hope all are having a safe and happy day.

Anyway the repair is made and now I need to seal it all.

Have a great day ya'll.

Curt,

I'll be following along as well. This is one of the kits I won in the '24 challenge.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Mike, much appreciated.

Curt. what kit did you get from Rusty?

The book store was great. I got 16 books I haven't read. 11 Louis L'Amour and 5 W. Johnstone books - all for $40.00. I then pass them  on the Greg. After reading them, we initial the inside cover. I turn them back to the used book store and get credit for half the price and then only pay half price for the books I buy. All in all, a great deal.

Time to edge and cut the grass. Pam is taking me out to dinner later this afternoon.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

I then wired the power to the left side of the adapter as shown below.

I wired the red and white wires (on the left) to the track buss.

Here is how it looks with the power applied from the track buss.

The green light tells me it is functioning properly and ready to roll.

I'll leave it out until the group can see it. Later next week I'll attach it to the underside of the bench work.

I'll also do a short video of it operating..

Done for today.

Here is how I wired the adapter. The red wire is pos. and the white wire is neg.

I used a paper towel and wrapped it around the motion detector so I could wedge it in the drilled hole.

The next photo shows the sensor wedged in the hole. I installed it at the height of the ties. I then replaced the three ties.

The DCC Power Adapter isn't necessary but I suggest you get it as it will make life much easier when installing the Squealer.

The adapter provides/converts power from the DCC track power to the adapter. More on this in a few more posts.

The instructions suggest drilling a 3/8" hole through the track and between the ties. I did this and can tell you the 3/8" is to big. A smaller hole will work just as well. I'll do it on the second motion detector I install.

The photo below is of the sound/mother board and the motion sensor stick.

I have wired the motion sensor to the board for simplicity.

The Squealer can be powered from 5V to 24V DC.

This next photo is of the speaker and speaker housing. It plugs into the white receptacle on the upper right of the board.

Tommy,

Good to see you and I hope you and Sandy is doing well. Almost time for me to order Christmas Candy.

Thank you for the kind compliment on the marker lights.

Curt,

Yes, this is no more than a sound board with a motion detector. I'll get a very short video up later this week.

Morning all,

It's a cool 80 here going to 92 today.

Pam and I are going to the used book store to see what we can find. I'm reading many of W. Johnstone westerns and the book store has plenty to choose from. Pam like Ann Rule books, which are based on true crimes of murder.

Have a great day ya'll.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, much appreciated.

I don't feel like doing "nuttin" today. Pam and I will make a trip to the used book store later. I'll see what W. Johnstone books I haven't read are on the shelves. Probably grab lunch out as well.

Maybe update the layout thread later this afternoon.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.
