Hi Tom,

Longtime lurker here. I've been MIA for the last 6 months or so but I finally caught up with your thread. The contrast from the previous version of the AS to the current version is striking. I've never been to your part of the country but you definitely are capturing the southeastern vibe to my eyes. It's awesome!

I may have missed this earlier, did you plug the structure LED's into the same power packs you are using for the overhead LED's? The $14 powerpacks from Amazon?

I love all the detailed tutorials & pics.

Thank you!

Hi John,

I've been away from the forum and the hobby for the last few months. Just finally catching up on the latest. You have been busy! This is mighty impressive!!!!

I'm almost finished with the build but I'm way behind on the thread.

May as well get started.

The kit comes with rolled roofing. It doesn't make any sense to have this type on a flat roof. I opted to do what Karl S. did on his build.

I cut a piece of Aluminum Oxide 120 grit sandpaper to fit the roof. I cut it to fit the entire roof area. More on this later.

You are a true craftsman! Dumb question, is this plain ol' sandpaper or something different?

Cool Jeff! I built ITLA's intro basic kit about a year ago (I think it was last years build challenge?!?) and was really happy with the end result.

Awesome Mike... I love the brief outline!

I keep a similar "Cliff Notes" version of steps next to my workbench since I work so sporadically.

Santa gave me this kit....

I will be lurking to learn from one of our forum Jedi's.

I use a sponge to dab on the paint, is there much difference using a terry cloth? I'll have to give that a try....
