Thanks everyone for the comments and having a look.

A fun and funny feature I wanted to incorporate into this building was a crazy first attempt at fire escape.  The history and iterations of fire escapes are actually pretty interesting ... they should would have to hurry to get on the foot bars and hand holds of this building since the building is made of wood, lol.  This was a cheap and fast way to build fire escapes but didn't last long ... thankfully.

I found one of my original building to show the completed fire escape.   I am in the middle of a large Reno at my house and everything is boxed up and I have no idea where anything is ... I found this while looking for some painters tape.  I can't wait to set things back in order and discover all my stuff again.

Slowly, coming together the model and the Reno!

Hi All
I completed all the cedar shakes on the stairwell and added the doors.  Finished off all the corbels and added paper corrugated roofing on a few roofs.
Thanks,
Joe

A couple update shots with the side staircase and back addition.

Thanks

It looks good - thank you for posting the pictures. I sure miss all the new kit announcements.
I miss those announcements too but not the late nights getting it ready.

hey Joe:

Nice looking kit. I really like the corbels. good luck on getting it finished.

Karl

Karl
Thanks Karl, corbels are tiny little details that go missing on the work bench.

This was the last kit I was working on before I stopped.  I never released it and had a couple of different versions I was playing around with.  This is kit has old Juneco metal cast windows with laser cut front entrance and corbels.  I started working on it at Christmas.  I want to finish this project and the Delta Mill in the next couple of weeks.

I threw up a couple of fences, installed a sidewalk and laid down a hydrocal roadway this week.

Looking really good, Joe.

Love the entrance to the side door.

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks Mark, I actually redesigned the hand rail and cut it last night.  I will see if I can't get it all painted and install.  It will look more like the old photos when I am done and matches the hand railing on the other side of the building.

Thanks for the comment on the roofing ... it takes a long time to colour them but they come together nicely and makes it worth the effort.

Added a few rock piles this week and designed and cut grates for the water ways and a fence on the roadway.  I will finish the grates and fencing if all goes well this week.

Thanks for looking, Joe

I have been away from this for too long.  I finished off the roof and have begun working on the base.  I am in the home stretch now and should be able to finish, quickly???

Cool chimney...
Doug

Thanks Doug, the chimney is all laser cut, carefully sanded on the corners and glued together.  I think I should be able to do all sorts of cool chimneys with this technique and material.

Almost done the roof!

Hey Joe:

Love those shingles. that roof is gonna look just great. Can't wait to see it finished.

Karl

The shingles are a labour of love, lol.  I am almost done, chimney is installed and will post photos in a day or so.  Thanks
