Morning all,

This morning for breakfast we have cheesy scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and grits. Bagel and cream cheese and drinks on the end.

Pam has bowling today and I'm going to watch. Still can't like anything over 5 lbs. Late lunch with friends later.

Hopefully I can update my challenge thread this afternoon.

Have a great day ya'll.

The following was posted on RR lines today.

I wish that I had better news to start off the new year, but Joe has decided to shut down the Forum as of March 1st. Rick, Joe and I decided to let you know ASAP so that you all would have time to save photos and info off the Forum that you might want to save. These two months will also give you time to discuss with each other alternative locations for us to meet up in the future.

Let's use this thread to make those arrangements and to share any tips you might have as to how to save content of interest.

I want to thank Joe for keeping the Forum going for over two decades. Over that time I have made a lot of friends and learned a lot of great modeling techniques here on the Forum, and I'm sure that you have as well!

Morning all,

Doug must me tired form all the layout benchwork otherwise he would have been here already. I saw his original layout and this one will be just as fantastic.

I'll be working on the Winter Challenge today and hopefully I'll get an update up on the forum.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Breakfast is on the table. Pancakes, Waffles and French Toast and of course maple syrup. Fruit bowl as well if not interested the carbs. Coffee, tea and OJ along with your choice of Diet drinks on the other table.

Still feel like I've been kicked in the stomach but also feel much better this morning. I'm gong to see how long I can work on a model at the bench this morning.

Four more days until Santa Claus stops by.

Stay safe, warm and healthy and have a great day ya'll.

Morning all,

Very nice 55 here this morning. This is modeling weather for me.

Nothing special on my agenda for today other than train shed time and modeling.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Morning all,

Happy Saturday peeps. Waiting for the Judge to get here so he can get his "running trains" fix for the week.

I'm waiting on Craig/Jim to move my Challenge thread to the Winter Challenge Topic area. I have more to add but want to wait until the thread is moved.

Have a safe, warm and healthy day everyone.

Several months ago Jim asked me if I would participate in a Modeler's Forum build challenge. I told him I would be happy to. I don't really have an area where I can install a diorama on the layout. Also, I need to only build something I can use on the layout and not have the structure become a shelf orphan.

My space is limited and it is shaped liked a flat iron. Hence, the title of a Flat Iron Corner Building.

The available real estate for the structure is approx. 25 square inches.

A flat iron building is one that resembles an old iron from the turn of the 20th Century. The next two photos are of a flat iron which I got from my grandmother. I've been using this flat iron as a door stop for the past 50 years.

The third photo is of an archival photo of a flat iron building.

Morning all,

Pam and I have bowling at noon and then late lunch/early dinner with bowling friends.

Maybe I'll get some layout time in late this afternoon.

We are getting some cold weather this Friday, maybe in the low 40's - we'll see. That is plenty cold for me.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Morning all,

Good to hear Dr. Jeff is doing well after surgery. Hopefully the other Drs. can get the sodium under control or at least figure what is causing it.

We had a great SBG yesterday and covered all the BS'ing topics.

I have a short on level two and don't know why it is shorting. It worked fine Friday and Saturday morning it shorted. I'll figure ti out later this afternoon. Not in the mood now.

The forum challenge sounds interesting. Not sure I'll have the time to do it. I have hernia surgery in December and will be out for 4 to 6 weeks.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

I guess everyone is waiting on one of us to open. Well, here it is, the doors are open.

I'm cleaning up the train shed today and getting ready to work on the layout.

We have out of town house guests, nephew and his wife. They are on Calif. time and waiting for them to get up at noon for breakfast isn't working very well with me.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Morning all,

Yesterday The Judge and I ran trains and Reading Bob dropped by for a visit. Bob brought down the trailer with the meth lab. His work is very impressive. It was a great little diorama with the lawn chairs, pelicans and other stuff.

Our guest arrived yesterday and it was late by the time we all got to bed. I'll nap a little later this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

It's been raining off and on most of the night. Very overcast now.

Jerry, I did all you suggested yesterday. I took the carb off and cleaned and checked all the jets. There is gas flow to the carb. The generator also has a low oil shut off valve. I checked that, the oil is clean and full. So, I'm at a loss as to the problem. When this is all over, I'll take it in and let a pro fix it. My several hours working on it yesterday didn't solve the issue.

It was clear and sunny yesterday so I decided to edge and cut the grass. Now when the tree debris comes tomorrow, it can all fall on a clean yard.  ;D

Stay safe everyone in the path of Milton. I'll more than likely loose power sometime tomorrow afternoon or early evening.

Tom
