Rain and overcast in MI this morning, with 65o I mowed in the late morning then felt po'ly and napped half the afternoon.

Little planned until a later this afternoon 'surprise' B'day for a friend.

Looks like home, Rick.  Enjoy it.

My son is in NW lower Michigan and sent me this photo from encountering a Mom and 3 cub while trail riding

Sure a big image on the PC screen, it's cropped from an iphone shot.

We've never seen any that close in our times in the UP.

8) Bright sun and mid 60s with a forecast of a nice day until late afternoon then some more stormy weather.  ::)

Yesterday a very little was accomplished but relaxing in the cooler, less humid weather was nice.

Nice area, Rick, rural/semi rural areas are pleasant.

Enjoy the day all.

Love the tank car.  What commodity is it for?

Hasn't hit 70o yet this morning ater another big blast of nasty overnight.  Bright, sunny and calm here this am.

Plans haven't been firmed for today.  Misc busy work.

Nice respite from 90o and no power.  Some real dramatic sounding Tornado warnings last evening but while I did take a break in the cellar we had no damage, just wind and rain.  There were twisters and straight line winds damaging things all over.

All there is here.

Big NASTY weather again last evening, even chased me to the basement.  We had some of the most dire sounding warnings but all the damaging stuff passed us by, it did rain considerably.  Had a jet pass over before the storm hit us that I determined from Flight Aware was a Delta flight from Atlanta to Grand Rapids,

I watched the track head North then after some racetrack patterns the destination changed to DTW and it was rerouted to Detroit Metro.  The weather at GRR at that time was NASTY, would hate to be trying to land in that.  Reroute to DTW would be a major PITA to the pax, for sure.

There were more power outages S and W of us as well in this area but we were saved. The rail cam at the Elkhart, IN depot is out at this time.

Off today to chat with my hearing guy.  It's clear and cooler today.

Power restored around 3:30, but water wasn't working. I found the two slow blow fuses inline were ok, breaker box was ok. So I called well guy who came out and fussed with power contacts and aired up the pressure tank and good to go.

Power company blamed trees for the outage, as they have 3 out the last 4 in the last few months. They don't seem too inclined to trim them.

Weather guesser says possibly worse storms tonight. Better get a shower etc beforehand as I have an appointment with my hearing specialist tomorrow morning.

All I've got.

Thanks all for the concern. Rick all the excitement of home purchase could well trigger the reflux. Mine has been evil lately as well as gi stuff.  :o

Our power came back online around 3:30.  Nice, BUT the water wasn't working. Called the well guy and he came out and fussed with the relay contacts and aired up the tank.

Sorry Jeff, have to answer later... pleasant 70o here after 8 am.

No power here since 7:30 lat night. Forecast is for 90s today and even more storms.   Power company said repair by 9 pm. About time next storm system to hit.

My skylink is down. Using phone.

0730. Still no power. Power Co says 9 pm maybe.

Weather guy says 90o+ with storms again late in the day.

I'm sure it will be a long day.

Stay safe.

Early FOG has moved along and it is now cloudy/just changed to sunnyish, warm and humids abound :-\  storms with severe potential later in the day.  We had a little rain but not much else.  Straight line winds blew over the supply shed at the township hall of next Township E and there were at least 2 tornadoes in MICH East of us. We have 2 days of mid-late day storms in the forecast.  Sum-Sum-Summertime! ::)

Yesterday was the anniversary of the June 1953 tornado that killed 110 folks on the North edge of Flint.  Years later I can remember when I worked 4 years, weekends and summers, in Flint that it was very noticeable with no trees in the area.

I did a bit of work on the layout yesterday in the basement, got all the bents stuck to the bridge deck and filled in some of the ground cover around the footings.  More stuff possible today.  1:1 stuff to do as well.

Be well all, stay safe.

Our forecast sounds a lot like Florida, or Iowa.  Potential for storms today and tomorrow.  There were 2-3 tornado hits in the area East of us, not far for one straight line 'event' either. We had little.

Worked on the layout yesterday and may again today.
