I decided to try another build as long as the challenge is not over.  This is one of Walther's laser cut wood kits.  There were 6 kits in the series but they are now listed as OOP.  I have 4 of the 6 kits.  There are a lot of parts in the box and here are the pictures of the parts.

I checked all the parts for completeness and fit before I started to assemble the parts.  There were 2 doors and 2 windows but there should have been 3 windows.  One of the windows was the wrong size and there should have been 2 of them.  I am now waiting for Walther's to send me some replacement windows.

While waiting for the windows, I cleaned and  mounted all of the castings on corks using some Aleene's Tacky Glue.  This makes them easier to handle for painting.

Jim,

Looking forward to this build. You have some kind of renewed energy for a 50 year old. What ever is in your water, I want some. I want a lot of it and it ain't Diet Pepsi you're drinking. 8) 8)

Thanks for looking in Tom.

It used to be the water cause it was mixed with Scotch.  Now that I am older, I gave up the scotch, so now it must be the iced tea.

I cut out all the walls, sanded all the edges to make them square and flat and then added bracing to stop warping.  The shed is one piece of chipboard that has to be folded into a square shape, so I added some bracing around the top to help keep the walls straight.

waiting for glue to dry.

On to painting.........I decided to paint the building Floquil Big Sky Blue with BAR Blue for the doors, windows and trim.  The shed will be floquil light green Tar Paper and the floor and deck are stained with Floquil Oak Stain.  The building roof will be Floquil Old Silver and the shed roof and awnings will be Grimy Black.

These are the paints and the pictures of the painted parts.

Still waiting for parts.

It doesn't appear that I am going to see the replacement windows anytime soon. So I built up what sub-assemblies I could.  I glued the raised floor on to the base and set that aside.  I assembled the loading dock that attaches to the side if the building.  The one piece that goes on the end and supports the ramp was too big.  It is a laser cut piece of plywood and I had to cut it to size before gluing it in place.  The dock is finished.  Next I painted the stick on Tar Paper with Floquil light green and applied it to the chipboard shed walls.  The walls were folded and glued in the assembly jig to make sure they were square.  There is a floor that supports the walls at the bottom to help keep it square.  Then roof board was covered with the stick on Tar paper, painted black and the battens were added.  I put the windows in the doors and use Canopy glue for the glass.  The doors were installed leaving one open just a bit.  I assembled the 3 walls for the entry and painted the castings.

I am now waiting for the windows.  I don't think Walther's has any left over and the ones I found in Grandt Line are out of stock.  I guess I will just put this build aside for a while and maybe find something else to work on.

To be continued some day.

Tom,
Thanks for the offer.  I talked to Walther's and they are sending me the replacement windows.
I should have them by Thursday.

I have started another of the Walther's laser cut kits, so I am not without something to doo

I finally received the replacement windows and painted and installed them along with the doors and trim.  The walls are now ready for assembly in the magnetic assembly jig.  I used the floor to help align the walls but did not glue the walls to the floor/base yet.  I will need access to the inside to attached the chimney.  I added the entry bump-out, attached the Doc and added some steps to the end of the dock to give easer access to the door.

I will call this Challenge Build finished.
