Good Morning,

Another Monday.   :(

Got a few things done at the workbench this weekend.  Maybe I'll squeeze a little workbench time in over my lunch hour today.

Have a great one!

Good morning!  Nice pic Bob.  No progress train-wise for me this weekend.  Hope to get something done on the layout today since it's supposed to be drizzly/rainy.  First, coffee.

Coffee and a stop here. See if this improves my outlook rather than reading the news first.

I hope to get more modeling done today. I'm already behind on my Pub Crawl thread.

Good morning! Coffee sounds good. I'm going to take a drive today and see if there are any fish (steelhead trout) in the river.  The weather is still a bit warm but with all this rain it's worth a trip.  I hope everyone has a great day. From the F&SM:

Good Morning All,

Drywall people coming today and the job will probably take a couple of days. Need to take Dad to the bank and credit union today. Hopefully I'll be back to layout work next week ;D.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning.

Raining again today, so an inside day is on the agenda.

Photos are PD tower Patchogue, NY a year or so before it was demolished in August 2006.  And, yes, the tower leans, it is not my photo, lol.

Everyone have a great day!

Time to get some gas, cut the grass, and enjoy the fall tree colors on this sunny day.
Nice photos today  !  Need to update my structure thread tonight.

A belated hello to everyone. The missus and I just got back from a vacation in the Black Hills. At long last, I have seen Mt. Rushmore. Beautiful area of the country and lots of interesting things to do. Thirteen hour drive, but worth it. Completely by accident we learned that, until Sept 30, the monument folks have a "lighting ceremony" every evening before turning the spot lights on the faces. Very moving -- inspirational and patriotic. The event takes place in the amphitheater where last year's (2020) July 4th celebration took place. Here's a pic:

Meanwhile, back to trains - I'm back to work on my Tennessee Pass build today. Hope to post a number of pictures this evening.

Oh yeah, if anyone goes on there, I HIGHLY recommend the Wall Drug doughnuts.

Cheers,
Vince

Vince, very timely photo for me.  I was reading a book on geology last night that talks about that layer of dark stone below the white carvings.  Most photos don't show that.  (If you are interested in geology, and particularly if you liked "Annals of the Former World", check out "How the Mountains Grew".)
