Morning all.

Let's get up, people!  Time's a wastin'.  I have a trip to Costco and Best Buy this morning.

I accomplished nothing yesterday except putting together a new office chair.

Morning all,

X-Mas is just around the corner.  Hope you all have your shopping done and the presents are wrapped.  I'm actually ahead of schedule on that front.  Maybe a few more stocking stuffers but that's all that's left.

Think I'll head to the workbench and paint some detail castings today.

Have a great one!

Well it was drizzly when I got up, but now it's sunny, -warm- (53, that's 21 above average) and sunny.  I'm just off the exercise machine, and I'll head back down to the train room and do more work on Lamson.  Looking at my photos, I discovered one casting where I didn't paint all of the window wells that flat black.  So that'll be the first task, along with a couple touch-ups where paint strayed into other window wells.  Then I need to decide if I'll do mortar.

Good morning (if barely).

Ten degrees cooler than at Dave's house and partly sunny.  I'm back working on freight cars.  Nothing new here.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Mornin' all,

Another gray drizzly day here.

On a positive note this morning I made the big lumber order which should allow me to make a lot of progress on the layout benchwork/infrastructure.  It should be delivered on Friday and then I am off work for 12 days.  My plan is to build the center platform (room within a room), and then the lower benchwork, and then the middle benchwork before I lay any track.  So basically it will be boring benchwork building for several months.

The lumber order included 44 sheets of plywood (3/4, 5/8, 1/2), 12 sheets of Luan plywood, 12 sheets of 1/8" masonite/hardboard, 50 1x3, 55 1x4, 30 2x2, 60 8ft 2x4, 8 16ft 2x4, 8 16ft PT 2x4, and 8 8ft PT 2x4.
