It has been a while since I posted anything on this thread. I really lost interest in working on the engine when the sound part of the ESU card died and it took nearly 3 months for LEDs to come from China.

I have been trying to get into the mood and I look at the scattered parts on my hobby bench giving me a good guilt trip.

So here are a couple pics of what I have done in the late 120+ days.

I started on getting the red flasher made. I used a red coloured bottle from Tichy for the cab flasher.

I took the Dremel ground off the neck of the bottle and then used a #72 drill to make room for a Nano Red LED.

I tried a Micro LED, but it was too big, so it had to be the Nano LED.

I then CA'd the Nano LED into the hole on the red bottle.

Next was to work on the headlights using warm white SMD LEDs CA'd into the headlight enclosures supplied with the switcher.

It was just a simple matter of feeding the wires through and CA'ing the enclosures into the holes in the switcher shells.

One end of the engine looked ok and the Red Flasher looked very much in scale of about 6-8".

The other end of the engine, the headlight enclosure looked "weird" so I trimmed it to be less  gaudy.

I still need to wire everything up, including the Keep-Alive, etc. But that will need a bit more mental inspiration.

See you later.

Thanks LynnB.

Here is the last video in the series... however, since I fried the sound part of the ESU decoder, there is not going to be any sound for this switcher.

Here is the last video in this series.

Enjoy.
