Good morning! It's time to do some modeling.  Wayne Olson is on his way over and we are planning on doing some scenery work, trees to plant etc.  I hope everyone has a great day.  Here is a picture from the F&SM for inspiration.

Good Morning John and all who follow. I am working at museum layout today and continuing research of a citrus packaging plant that was called Boyer Packaging. It burned down in 1959 but was one of the big employers for this area during time layout depicts.

Good Morning All,

Late start this morning. It's supposed to get to 60 today (maybe) and rain most the day...still better than snow. Not sure what's on the agenda for today.

Hope Tom is doing well.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning,

Well the freezer came and it as bigger than in the listing, so it is going back as soon as a smaller comes in Feb.

Good morning!  Just got back from walking the dog.  Time for more coffee, then errands, then modeling.

Good morning,

Woke up at 4:30 to no heat and 5 degrees outside. I fooled around with the switches--we have a geothermal heating/cooling unit installed in 2008--but no dice getting it going. With the house temps falling fast, I felt VERY LUCKY to get a local technician out by 9 am. He diagnosed a dead fan/blower and called around to the local supply houses.  I feel EVEN LUCKIER that he found one and left to pick it up.

Fingers crossed our luck continues to hold! :)

Take care, all.

Good morning.  Negative double toothpicks here to start the day.  Looking for a heat wave this afternoon as temps are forecast to reach the (positive) mid-twenties.

George, I cannot even imagine...hope he gets the part and has it installed sooner than later.

I added a layer of 1/2" foam to one end of the layout to help a little with that "flat look".

Everyone have a safe and productive day!

Morning all,

Ouch George!  We've had all kinds of issues over the years with our unit but when the heat goes out down here in FL a few extra blankets solve the problem.  It's when the cooling goes on the fritz that we really suffer.  Best of luck to you!

I was going to clean up the leaves around the house today but it's wet outside and in the 50's so I guess I'll retire to the workbench instead.  Oh darn.   ::)

Have a great one!

Morning while it still is. I've been running around all morning and taking care of my mother's needs. I dealt with a bout of food poisoning this week. When I called in at work, they automatically diagnosed me with covid, I had to tell'em to calm down. Getting ready for the big Springfield show next weekend, but I don't think it will be very big..

George, great you got your heat fixed.  (We had an early open-loop geothermal system in the mid '80s at our house in NJ.)

It was "nothing" this morning, but most of the rest of NH was in negative territory.

I'll probably head back down and work on my bulk boxcar build.  I drilled the bolsters and coupler mounting screw holes yesterday, next step is to add the queenposts then run the (monofilament) truss rods.  I'm doing a detailed build thread over at Railroad-Line: https://railroad-line.com/node/975436

Happily we are back in business with a fully functioning geothermal heating system again.  Our tech was really efficient--he got here at 9:30 am and had us back in heat by noon.
