Morning all.

Having issues with the new vehicle purchase.  Costco and Consumer Reports both have buying programs.  I have been contacted by 4 dealers.  One didn't know how to order a car.  One didn't know the 2025s were out yet.  Two had no idea what the prices were, even though they were posted at the Honda site.  I'm dealing with a dealer in Des Moines and she quoted me a price, which was the 2024 price, but then when it came time to OK it, amazingly the price went up to the 2025 price.  I need to send her a nasty text this morning.

I did run a train yesterday which showed no layout "issues".  Now to run the others and see which locos are usable and maybe run a quick cleaning train.  Layout room needs vacuuming as well.

Well, I wonder how much of what you're dealing with is "deliberate ignorance" versus just untrained staff at the dealerships.  My brother-in-law was Ford salesman for a while, he told us a bit about the business from the inside, including how the rebates work so if they sell the car "below invoice" the dealership still makes money.  One thing GM missed about the Saturn experiment was how different that experience was for buyers.  It's one reason why we bought a Saturn.  But since GM now refuses to support Android or Apple car, there's no way I'll even look at a GM car.  I'm not paying them to spy on me and to substitute their questionable vetronics for what I already know.   End of car rant.

Anyway, more work on the cobblestone streets today.

Morning,

I have bought fur Fords over last 35 years and when I went to refresh the model, it was a horrible experience. Three cylinder cars are just not good and the experience was so bad I walked out after ten minutes.

I went to the Subaru dealer and had the price, loan rate and car my wife liked within 15 minutes. Yes, it was used, but had 1 year of warranty on it. The financing was simple (through Toyoto finance) and easy to deal without any human contact.

Morning all,

Car buying is one of my least favorite things to do.  Enough said.

Still fiddling with little detail parts.  I built two (HO scale) shelving units yesterday.  The first went together okay.  The second I'm not happy with so I'll take it apart, do a little filing/pre-fitting, and then assemble it again.  That'll be a project for this afternoon.

Have a great one!

We took the van in last week and of course it needed some worn out parts replaced. The Boss thought buying a new car instead would be a great idea, me not so much. The storm has past but I expect issue will come up again whenn next the car needs worn out parts replaced.

In the meantime love the photo's, here is one of the airplane I learned to fly in and was first I ever owned. I paid $27,500 for this 1978 Piper Warrior in 1981, just a little less then what I paid for our first home. Not the plane I wish I had kept but in the running.
