Morning all.

I slept over an hour late and I'm still the first one here?  I'll forgive the worker bees for sleeping in on a Saturday, but you retired guys should be up, the day's a wastin'.

I almost typed December 7, 1941 "a date which will live in infamy".

Continued work on the FSM kit today along with probably watching the Iowa State football game this morning and the Big Ten championship tonight.

Morning all,

I was here early Jeff but was reading the posts and forgot to check in.

I'm spending the day with Pam so I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Have a safe and warm day ya'll.

Good Morning Jeff and everyone else that comes in the clubhouse. It is indeed December 7th a day that will live in infamy.

Not sure what I will get myself into today. Had a great time yesterday with the modeling group I am part of, one of the members is starting a new layout and his benchwork is really coming along. Well off for a second cup of coffee. Enjoy football Saturday everyone and stay warm!

I'm up, but definitely not "at 'em" yet.
I had the honor of sailing past the Arizona twice going and coming from Viet Nam. I seem to recall we dressed in whites and "manned the rail" (stood At Ease along the ships railings) as a silent honor who died in the attack. Still brings goose bumps 54 years later.

Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Good morning.

Another snowy morning in upstate NY.  I'm headed out to plow the driveway again, due as much to drifting snow as new snowfall, though it is snowing lightly as I write this.  Temperature is in the mid-twenties with a wind chill in the teens so I'll be bundling up before heading outside.

I'm planning to get some modeling done this afternoon, progress on the freight house has been slower than I had anticipated.

I hope everyone has a warm, safe and productive day.

Morning,

I can't believe that I slept 18 hours yesterday. It must be a winter thing!

We got home late after a concert in Boston.  One of the singers in the ensemble was celebrating her 2000th performance with the group (Tallis Scholars). This is a group that does world-wide tours (mostly renaissance polyphony).

Yesterday the latch on the washing machine broke.  I have a replacement on order from Amazon, it's supposed to arrive tomorrow.  For $10, I can run the risk of it not being the right part to get the washing machine working again.

Morning all,

A bit chilly here in Central Florida today.  Should warm up over the next few days though.  X-Mas tree decorating today and maybe a little workbench time.  We shall see.

Have a great one!

Happy CFB Conference Championship Saturday!

This morning I organized the train layout room so it is prepped to start building and installing benchwork. I moved all the 'stuff' into logical piles: built structures, unbuilt kits, track/track laying stuff, electrical/wiring, rolling stock, and junk that needs to move out of the layout room (old stereo eqmt, etc).

And then I applied blue tape where the initial benchwork will be installed (the lower return loop).  The hidden lower return loop track will be 36" elevation and the city above that will be 43" elevation.

Did you set that blue tape line with a level, or is it just an 'approximate height'?  I found a cheap laser level to be a great tool for benchwork.

The tape is just an approximation of the track elevation, not the benchwork.  I have a nice laser level for once I am ready to attach ledger boards to the wall.
