Hi Frank.....I visited Tom's last week and got to see your build in person. What a wonderful job you did and such an interesting looking structure. It looks great on the A&S and I can't wait to see in planted in its scene. 

Isn't about time for you to get back to work on your empire.....enough of the slacking. 

Who's slacking? Have not seen any progress on your layout. Yes, I know, work comes first. Have to keep food on the table. Progress will attempt to increase, especially in the steel mill area. This are is probably a two plus year event. With only one building completed, I need to design the track plan and build 3 to 4 structures including the blast furnace, open hearth furnace and several out buildings. This is a big area and the background also has to be designed and built. So-o-o, stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by. It has taken some time to get back into the swing of the layout after the stress put on prior to the photo shoot for Great Model Railroads. Now that is done, there is much to do to "complete" the rest of the layout. Yes, ?I know, we are never complete, but the "boss" or as Dave implies ' One who must be obeyed" has started the "downsizing" dialogue. Since no " real " date or timeframe has been actually implied, I am going to stretch this as much as possible. If I'm lucky, I have four years. So-o-o, stay tuned.

Well, Today I got quite a bit of details completed and installed. The gas pumps took quite a bit of time to sand, assemble, paint, etc... Window signage was installed ( after the fact)(should have been installed in the flat)(my bad). Still lots of details to add. They are currently primed and will be worked on during the next few days. Progress is being made. Enjoy the pics.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, this is my version of SRMW Robinsons. It is not done yet. I took it just so far before Lou Sassi photographed my layout and have, as yet, completed the build. Now that I am back at it, so to speak, it will be completed soon. As you will not from the back view, I have some integration with the structures on the lower level. This integration is not yet to my satisfaction, so progress continues.


East End Market, Robinsons and Streeters are the cornerstone of an intersection on that level. A lot more detail is planned like working traffic lights, more vehicles, etc.. Does this ever end. I need to get back to my major project, the steel mill complex. This will take a couple of years to complete the track, buildings and surrounding scenery. The city in the center of the island should go quickly because a lot of the structures are already built. I say should go quickly, but you know how that goes. Enjoy the pics.

Good to hear from you. Yes, I am back at it or as much as the little woman will let me. I guess I sometimes get a little carried away while in my train domain. Anyhow, glad you stopped by and enjoy the build progress.

Thank you for your kind words. Glad you are enjoying the build. This little building has been a challenge because it is built in reverse. The real challenge awaits with the steel mill complex, starting soon. So stay tuned. more or my railroad very soon.

Well, most of the structure details are done. Still waiting for more slate shingles that I ordered from SRMW. So, I decided to add the base to the structure. Lots of pink foam. The building is situated in an area where there is a significant change of layout height. Another consideration that I am trying to implement is to build removable building modules for future layout removal. Yes, I said removal. Many of my buildings are "solid to the layout" and that was a bad decision. With the wife discussing "Downsizing", ( that is a dirty word") I need a bit smarter, hence the removable sections.


Next up is the sculptamold to modify the contour. Then scenery and lots of details. WHEW!

Today was another good day to work on the railroad, specifically Streeters. Started scenery, installed a few details, etc... Still have a major item to complete - the road in front of the station. ?i want to get that perfect so there will be a lot of file to fit work. Can't wait to finish placement of the structure and then turn on the LED's. Soon, very soon. In the meantime, here are a couple more pics.

Made a bit of progress on Streeter's today. Worked on the driveway connecting the main street. As you will see in the photo's, the driveway into Streeter's is on a curve and there is an elevation change from one end to the other. There is also a (will be ) a berm dividing the two. Challenge accepted and solution designed and built. I also ran power lines from the pole to the building. I still have to add some power wiring from the transformer to the top of the pole. Some scenery was also added along with more junk. d. There is still a lot of scenery that will be added, more junk, a couple of trees, etc... After looking at the pics, it looks like the I need to glue he corrugated roof down a bit more.

Very nice modeling Frank.  Another great build. It's going to look real nice in the spot you have picked for it.  I love the elevation change.
