Frank, really nice work.  What great team work.  I really like how you are setting the scene in each location.  MRR is really going to like this layout.  BTW, where do you get your tree stumps?  I'm going to need a lot and was wondering where to get them.  Phil

Phil,
Thanks for your kind words. Here are a couple of photos around the mine where I have planted the tree stumps. I have had them for over 20 years. I got them from a local guy that makes trees, etc... Send me a PM with your phone number and I'll call you with more info. I just talked to him and he has a some left in his stash that he would part with. Enjoy the pics.

Great station scene.  The LPs are wonderful.  Your wife is very talented.

Jeff

Jeff,

Thank you for your comments on the little people. One of the sidebars for my Model Railroader article will be "painting people" by my wife.

Love the details, the mix of roofing on the station, the passenger step box, and especially the boys racing at the end of the platform!  You really have an "eye' for scene composition.  Kudos to your wife for spending the time to do such a great job on the figures.

Jerry, Thanks for viewing my thread. Yes, I like details. I am trying to make this as realistic as possible and glad you enjoy the pics. I look at my railroad as a paintinng and compose each scene to reflect my design experience.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I bought 18 boxes of Preiser figures many, many years ago. Obviously the prices have gone up, but there is no way she will ever paint all of them. There are a lot of Little People that do not fit because of the outfits they are wearing. I do a lot of "modifying" to the figures, where I can. The scene at the station is just one of many where the "people" really make the difference. Thanks again for your kind words.

Frank,

Tel Phyllis that the little people look good, and oh your Sylvan autos also are looking good.

Thanks Steve,

I don't want to tell here that everyone likes her painted people. She might just stop painting for me and go and sell them to everyone else. Only kidding. Thanks for stopping by.

Good Morning All,

Yesterday I posted two pics of the mine area in Ironia with lots of tree stumps. Well, after seeing the pics for the day, something kept bothering me. After talking to the guy who made them, I had both HO and O scale stumps. DRAT. So I ripped out the O scale stumps, because they really looked too big. I'm going across town this morning to get some more HO scale stumps and put in the better scale. Not a total waste, but a slight hiccup in the completion schedule. My Bad. The good news is that he has more HO scale stumps, because I want to enlarge the area around the mine. So you know what I will be doing today!!!

Have a great day.

Frank,

Very happy to hear the "O" scale stumps are gone. I didn't want to be the one to say, "What the F--- were you thinking?"

Otherwise the layout is really looking fantastic.

Tom, curious and curiouser.  Does "F" stand for "Fahrvergnügen"?  Because I didn't see any Volkswagen cars on Frank's layout?  KPI...

Greg,

I have been having senior moments for years. I removed the large stumps earlier this morning after confirming that I had the wrong size and that he had more small size stumps, drove to Mesa where i buy my trees / stumps, purchased all the of the right size stumps that he had, drove home and installed them. Looks much better. Glad that project is over. Now onto something else. Forgot to mention that Don gave me a couple more deciduous trees, one of which i "planted" in the interior of the building complex in Chester. Back to scenery in Ironia / Essex Falls.

Fifty four days and counting. I reviewing a section of the layout, i saw a blank area that needed filling. Kind of a dumb statement considering the layout is not totally done. As many of you know, I really like the SRMW structures. One that I did not  buy was Robinson's Electric, so I decided to make my own version. Over the past couple of days, I have been cutting, gluing, etc. the basic structure. Here are a couple of pics. This building will join a couple of other buildings on the north side of the street. This should finish off the scene.
