Hello everyone. Jaime and myself are interested in building this kit as a group build. We are not really sure when we will start the project, but I thought maybe I would post a thread so that if anyone is interested in joining in, you could get those present projects finished up and then you could join in. The more the merrier. Get the kit off of the shelf and lets get a great group build going with a great kit. This kit has such great potential for so many different perspectives..... I'm just throwing this out there to see what kind of a response we get. Even if no-one wants to join in, I know for sure that I will really enjoy the building of this awesome kit, with Jaime......

Even if I don't join in I'm eager to see you guys build this one.

Hi everyone, my name is Magnus and i live in Sweden. I have started to build The Oyster Hill for my modelrailroad, Bradley & Scottsdale.

When I first saw the kit i had the perfect place for it

I braced the walls and spraypainted the back black

i spraypainted the windowframes Valleyo olive green

the walls got a wash with ink

i brushpainted the walls white

the mainbuiding glued together

i glued on the big sign with white glue

then i stained the wallcastings with ink and alcohol

and drybrushed varios shades of brown and gray

i use a sheet of glass on top of the drawing so that i can glue the pieces together

for the third floors board by board construction i brushed on brown pigment and sealed it with alcohol

i followed the instructions and glued the boards to the walls cardboard

i then cut the boards and filed the edges smooth

the basic form taking shape

i use post-it notes as shades, that i cut and glue i place

i cut and glued the rafters in place

the stair was glued together direct on the wall

i found an old piece of Fallers printed wood sheet that i used as a roof in the basement

Before i glued the floors together i installed led lighting

a test to see the lights in Place

the shape of the landscaping around the building has started and that is what i`m going to continue with today

I have a Facebook page where i update , Bradley & Scottsdale RR

Nice job, Magnus! This thread has already cemented my regret over not buying this kit. But I'm excited to watch.

I predict that someday, I will rip out a section of layout and drop a grand on ebay to get it. I must run off to my kitbuyer's anonymous meeting now before I do something crazy  ;D

Wow!!

There is no moss growing under Magnus' feet. Welcome aboard!

There you go folks. That's how to build Oyster Hill.

I'll try to make pictures of mine once I get going. I have opened the box and scanned the instructions.

There are a couple of these on eBay for not much more than retail so if you don't already have one go get you one.

Later.

Wow! Doug must have sent you this kit weeks before the rest of us got ours. This will be finished quicker than you can say "Karl Scholz". You'll be done before Jaime gets his river done on his SRMW kit.

Nice work, Magnus. Glad to have you here.

Wow...you're going FAST! You may have yours finished before I even open mine. I like the lighting...I was thinking how I was going to build mine and thought about putting lights on the billboard that sits on the roof.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice to see how many of you that i admire is likeing what i have done so far, it feels great  :D

I think I was one of the last to recive this kit but I started to build just a few days after i got it.
When i first saw the ad i knew exactly where it was going to be placed on my layout.

Yesterday i worked with the landscape around the place where the kit is going to be planted.

I hope i didn`t steal this thread, but i understood it like it was for everyone  :D
