Tom,

Thanks for sharing those wonderful building sidings. I have saved them and started to think where I can use one or two of them. Got my package from Scenic Express yesterday, so I am back working on scenery. I'll post a pic later on my thread.

Frank / Erieman

Frank,

You are very welcome. I've been doing scenery today as well.

Tom,

Is there any way to get full res versions of the pics?  Would it be possible to scan them in at 300dpi and send them via email?  Thanks.

Frank

Frank,

I sent you a PM reference the signs.

ACL1504

Okay, prior to closing this thread I wanted to show ya'll a couple other details on the build.

I used the Gallery Glass Liquid Leading to simulate the tar pitch around the roof and parapet.

The roof is now glued in place but I didn't want to glue the back/side wall in place. This mainly due to the LEDs in the structure and I need, hopefully I won't need to, to get access to them. So, I applied the Liquid Leading to the edge of the roof panel and when dry I reattached the side wall. Sorry for the bad photo - the last photo here.

More in a few.

I weathered the two metal pipes with some rust colored pastels. By the way, the two pipes were painted with Model Masters Jet Exhaust.

And as you can also see, i added an Alka Seltzer sign to the roof. The sign faces the highway and is an "N" scale Bar Mills sign. I've had the sign for many years. The "N" scale signs are great for this type use.

Although this build started out as a kit bash, it ended up being a total scratch build. I still have the original Varick Freight kit and the extra parts PostalKarl was so kind to give me. I will be building that one at a later date.

This was a fun build and it got my creative juices flowing after a two year lapse in any type of kit building.

Thanks for all those who followed and took the time to post their thoughts on the build.
