In the photo below you can see the piece I removed. I think you can also see the new pencil lines above the current openings.

Well, wouldn't you know it. I got to repairing the wall I forgot to photo the repair.

No problem, you can see the other window fix. The repair was the same.

In the photo below, I inserted the cut out piece. I drew in new pencil lines above the opening. The new smaller piece was cut out and the window placed in the opening.

I then cut the bottom off the older cut out piece and glued it in under the window.

You can also see light between the two wall pieces. I glued a piece of strip wood on the back to block the light and give the re-glued piece some support.

In order to hide the cut lines, I'll pull a George Sellios and add a few vines to hide the mistake. 8) 8) 8) 8)

On this build, the freight doors will be open so I can have a few inside details showing. I cut the bottom support off the door frame.

I chose to paint the building with Floquil Great Northern Gray Green. I brushed some paint on the walls and then dipped the brush in some clean thinner and used the paint and thinner to "wash" the walls. It goes on dark but dries a lighter shade. You know, like a gray green.

The photo below is 30 minutes after the paint wash was applied.

Here is how it looked after three hours.

Perhaps a little more tomorrow.

Hi Tom,

Your building is looking great.  I like the way the signs turned out.  I have never done a large one like that, but have done smaller ones.  The signs really ad character to the building.

Steve,

Much appreciated, thank you. The signs make the structure as far as I'm concerned. I'll be happy to post the signs here I got from Reading Bob. This way everyone has the opportunity to use them.

I copied the sign and reprinted it. I lightly sanded the back and then used white glue to glue it to the front wall.

After the sign was dry, I lightly sanded the front of the sign.

I was going to have the freight doors open so I needed to cut them apart. I used a #11 blade to make the cut. Four light strokes and the doors were separated.

I decided after cutting them that I had a better idea for the open bay area so they were primed and set aside of another build.

Saturday evening I painted the door and windows. Yesterday morning I added Gallery Glass for the window glass. This morning while the windows and door were still on the sticky tape I used Floquil Antique White and dry brushed them. At this same time I dry brushed the walls and sign with the Antique White.

Once the walls and windows were dry, yes dry brushing needs to dry, I glued the front, sign and rear walls together.

I used metal squares and weights to ensure the walls were square while drying.

I know for one of my builds, this thread has been lacking in more photos and explanations, but I need to get moving on other builds as well.

Anyway, the door and windows were installed after the three walls were glued and dry.

Time for a Diet Pepsi. Back in a few.

Just for kicks, here is a look at the back wall. I will paint the wall but nothing else. No one will see it.

Since my freight bay doors will be open, I wanted to show an interior wall. I used some old Kappler Mill & Lumber scribed siding. It is 3/32" thick and each board is 8" HO scale. I cut a piece four boards (32") high. I then glued this piece to the interior wall.

I painted this section of wall with Floquil Signal Red. I then added a larger/higher section and painted it Floquil Primer.

Here is how the interior wall section looks.

Since the interior will be viewed and filled with freight stuff, it definitely needs to be lit. I used some of Slim's LEDs to light the lower level. The lower level roof is nothing more than a thick piece of a legal pad cardboard.

It is also braced with scale 8x8's on the bottom.
