The boat was an experience in itself. The boat consists of 7 separate pieces of chip board. Doug suggested using some fast drying CA glue to assemble the boat.

Building the boat was difficult for me as I kept glue my fingers together with the fast acting super glue. At one point I needed to pour a little Acetone in a cup so I could dip my fingers in it to "UNGLUE" my fingers.

I finally finished the boat and even though it appears a little out of scale it does make a nice looking model.

The boat was painted with Floquil Coach Green and Depot Buff.

The floating dock walkway, AKA gangway, was next.

I glued the two heavy sections of cardstock together and let dry. When dry, I edge glued stained 2X6s to the sides.

I then glued stained 2X10s to the top. I used a metal bar to ensure the planks were even with the end and sides.

Diet Pepsi time folks.

I wasn't sure where I wanted the dock to be positioned so I moved it around until I found a spot I was comfortable with it's location.

While in position, I marked where the four corner pilings should be glued and where the approach walkway would rest on the bank.

I then cut and glued the four piling in place. When dry, I replaced the floating gas dock and positioned the walkway on the bank. I then removed the scenery and added a dirt approach.

I removed the walkway and glued the handrails in place. After taking the below photo, I realized I glued the handrails to the top of the walkway and not the sides. I removed them and glued them to the outside edge, flush with the  bottom of the walkway.

The next five pictures are of Bud's Gas & Bait in position. The only thing left to do is add a micro mini LED to the top of the sign on the roof. I'll show that when I get it done.

This second build challenge is now complete.

I'll get back to building Delwin's Boat and Net Storage full time. Well, I do have a few little things still going on in the Suwannee River Basin area. Maybe back to building Delwin's 93% of the time.

Looks great Tom.  You just need a little kid sitting on the edge of the dock with a cane pole fishing for some panfish.

Not to be picky, but where are the main gas supply tanks?

Awesome job on the build and placement of the gas dock.

Tom, finally done. Been through CA glue yourself to everything routine. Mt fingernails have CA polish that give them a such nice shine. :)

The kit had lots of elements that make an interesting mini scene. You may want to consider toning down the blue roof lettering to give a washed out bleached look. Do you have lights-on photo of the scene?

Mark,

Thanks, much appreciated. I do have figures that will be placed here and there once the second level is complete.
