I moved this thread from the A&S RR thread as I felt it didn't really fit. I don't like the fact I can't resize some of the pictures. I'm still on the investigative side of that issue for but for now you'll just have to click on the picture to bring it to the correct size. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I thought it would be a neat idea to show old photos of some of my old layouts.

You can see the George Sellios influence in the next few photos of the harbor scene.

The viaduct was built using one block at a time. I think I had over 6,000 blocks. It was detailed on both sides as well as under the  arch.

The three stall roundhouse was scratch built and had full interior walls. the turntable was an old SS Limited turntable. The pit was scratch build also.

The Roundhouse still lives.  I used Tom's as a pattern and scratch built my 4 stall Roundhouse.

I appreciate you following along as well. This particular roundhouse was scratch built. However, I patterned it after the old Suydam Models kit.

Jim Miller, above, used my pattern to scratch build his four stall roundhouse.

When I was redoing the old, old layout, I dropped mine and it landed in a pile of a couple thousand pieces of strip wood.

The windows are Grandt Line roundhouse arched windows. I put scotch tape on the windows and the dust collected naturally to look like dirty windows.

That sure is one great looking roundhouse. You even have it painted in the A&S RR colors.

In the early 90's I needed to build a trestle and double track bridge.

Micro Engineering sold the deck girder kit for around $16.00 for four deck girder sides and some additional parts. I figured I would need 46 of the deck girder sides. To buy them all would have cost over $200.00. I made a RTV mold and mass produced the additional 42 sides in resin. I reduced the price to around 12 cents each.

They were painted silver along with the trestle supports.

The span measured around 6-7 feet in length.

The double track Warren Truss Bridge was kit bashed from two Central Valley bridge kits. Now, Central Valley makes a double track bridge. Mine was a marvel kit bash back in the early 90's.
