Those ground level shots are great...especially the one with the cars at the crossing. I imagine they capture the sense of power it must have been like when those steel monsters blasted by up close.

Great job!

I've been very busy with 1:1 stuff and have really ignored the A&S thread for quite some time. We added a small room to the front of the house and that project kept me busy for several months.

I haven't been totally idle in relation to working on the layout however. I'm about 100 photos behind on updating the thread.

My plan is to get back to the thread posting this week.

It is the season for 1:1 projects, even in Florida . The weather in Michigan has finally broke and all the stuff that was supposed to get done in April on the nice days didn't get done. So I know how you feel about being behind with the posting. I'm looking forward to your future posts - that third level is going to create a whole lot of room for more railroad.

John,

This project started back in July 2017 when the contract with the builder was signed. Actual construction began in November 2107 due to the City delaying the permitting process. This is typical for Orlando to jerk the residents around for a few months.

I'll have a few posts later this evening. Wednesday is Date Night for the Babe and me.

Thanks checking in on the build.

All the buss wires have been pulled for the third level except those that will go down the center third level.

I've tapped into the buss wires and have the wires screwed to a terminal strip in preparation for running the wires down the center.

I cut the sleeve on the wire and soldered the wires together.

I found my cross members/braces in the wrong location in adding the decking/plywood to one section of the third level.

To fix this, I cut a spare piece of 1X4, marked the center line and screwed it to the end of the plywood as shown below.

It just worked out that the 1X4 butted up against the 1X3 cross brace.

The next piece of plywood was only three feet in length. This fit nicely on the cross brace and wall supports. I then screwed it in place.

Here is how it all looks at this point. Well, I should say that point as I'm beyond what is shown in the following few photos.

Here are a few rare views of the third level as seen from inside the Ovalix.

Two-tone,

Looking good bossman!  Nice clean proper professional job T.   Wow what a difference to the layout.  Just wait till you complete the top with lots of scenery.  I think the craftsman's show should consider a show in Los Florida' so there's a no excuse reasons for everyone not to visit your AS empire.  KP-out...

GPdemayo

That's just cruel making us wait till Friday.   ;D ;D ;D

Looking good Tom.  8)
