Guess your next task is to write a computer program and plug all the LED's into the machine so lights can go on and off at different times in different structures.  ;)
But we know, Superman can do it!
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

Think of my method of lighting as a buss line. The positive on one wire and the negative the other. The structure lights are wired parallel to the terminal screws.

I wired the layout LEDs in the same manner. I think it starts around page 130 or so.

Chip,

No computer program as I don't know how to do that and don't want to learn.

I do have some of Slims computer pads that will do it as you suggested - different times.

Appreciate you stopping by.

Hamstring......hmm how was the injury caused? A case for Poiret, Barnaby or Morse maybe?

Mike,

Turned out not to be a hamstring but a minor tear of the Meniscus muscle on the inside of the left knee. :'( Ortho Dr. said it can be cause by just twisting the knee under stress. Must have happened when I was laying the flooring in the new room addition.

Although the above three are superior investigators, I had to go with someone more local. ;D ;D

I haven't given up on the thread but have been severely slowed by the knee injury. I'm really behind on the photos as well.

Hopefully, I'll be able to add more later this weekend. I want to finish the Throw Back Thursday thread and get that one off my back.

I finished the third level bench work on the West side. It went fairly smoothly but I did need to solve one problem.

The area where the third level lift out will be wasn't going to work with the bracket on the back of the bookcase as shown below.

The metal bracket is flush with the end of the bookcase and I had no easy way to attach the 1X3 end piece as I did with the second level as shown below.

To solve the issue, I started by removing the metal bracket. I then cut a piece of 1X1 from a spare piece of 1X3. I then glued and screwed this piece to the back of the bookcase. I forgot to take pictures of this but the next few photos will also give you the idea.

Also, I'd like to note here that you should drill a pilot hole in the small piece of wood like the 1X1. This will prevent the wood piece from splitting when the dry wall screw is screwed through the wood and into the structure/bookcase.

I then built the bench work base as I did with all the previous wall brackets.

Note in the above photo I added the threaded steel rod for the corner support.

Yes, it is still all level.

In the lower right of the below photo, you can see the 1X1 between the 1X3 and the back of the bookcase.

When the times comes, I feel bad my children will have to figure out how Dad screwed all this to the bookcase and walls. Maybe they can reverse read this thread.

Here is how I fed all the buss wires from the bench work 24" wide to the one that is only 9.5" wide. This third level follows the second level in the bench work shape, length and width.

The bench work is now in place and secure to the wall and back of the book case.

Notice I cut a 1X3 cross piece to cover the buss wires in the corner? Actually, this cross piece supports the curved section of decking over this corner.

The plywood decking was cut and laid in place on the bench work. None of the decking is screwed to the bench work in any of the following photos.

Here's a better photo of the cross brace covering the buss wires and support for the decking.

Also, here's a better photo of the end section showing the steel rod and 1X1 next to the back of the bookcase.

As a sometime or less than often level headed person, did I ever mention it is a good thing to have all your bench work on the level?

I also have all the LED lighting installed under this section on the West side. I'll show how it looks in the next few posts later next week.
