Hi Tom,

Longtime lurker here. I've been MIA for the last 6 months or so but I finally caught up with your thread. The contrast from the previous version of the AS to the current version is striking. I've never been to your part of the country but you definitely are capturing the southeastern vibe to my eyes. It's awesome!

I may have missed this earlier, did you plug the structure LED's into the same power packs you are using for the overhead LED's? The $14 powerpacks from Amazon?

I love all the detailed tutorials & pics.

Thank you!

Bobby,

It's good to see you back Bobby. Hope all is well on your end and you were just taking a break.

Thank you as well for the very kind compliment. There is a drastic difference between the old and the new version of the A&S RR. This one is much more enjoyable and fun to operate.

In reference to the LED lighting in the structures, the answer is no. However, you can though. I plan on using one of them for the third level LED lighting. I believe one of the $14.00 ones can power up to around 1,000+ LEDs. Well, that is what the advertisement stated.

You tube is full of videos on how to do it.

I have the first 8 ft. section of the third level decking in place. I'll show this later in the thread.

I next removed the section I marked as the St. Johns River located on the second level.

I cut the buss wires and removed the cross support braces.

I then used the saber saw and removed the side 1X4's.

I then measured (2x) and cut (1x) two 1X3's and screwed them to the sides under the existing 1X4's. These new 1X3's now support the the St. Johns River plywood base.

Cutting out the river base left a 3 inch gap between the top and the 1X4. I was going to cut a small piece of plywood and glue/screw it in place.

I then decided to just move the entire 8 foot section down the 3 inches.

Here is how the first section of the third level island looks.

The second level LEDs are off so it appears dark, which it is.

This afternoon I decided what FSM and FOS kits I would definitely not use on the layout. I came up with 9 FSM and 4 maybe 5 Limited Run FOS kits.

I'll check some prices on Ebay and then list them on the forum first. My prices will be less than Ebay. The $$, if any sell, will go back into the A&S RR. I want to sell them not go crazy on the prices but I won't give them away either.

Greg,

Looks like someone has finally figured out what to do with Greg.

I also have some extra caps from long ago that could be used.

I do agree, that is a lot of blank plywood, But it is also a lot of blank canvas to work on.

Carry on my friend.  I will watch even from the corner with Greg.
