My metric for "tedious and delicate" is not 'time', but 'cusswords'.  :-)

Dave,

Yes, I had a few of those moments as well on this coal tower.

Beautiful modeling Tom. I may have some small chain also,, but I have to do some searching.

Curt,

Thank you much appreciated. If you find the chain, I'll be happy to make the purchase.

Tom - I like the clean-out rack.  Nice touch.  Probably need at least two to service three ash pits.  The A&S can work another one into the budget if the CEO approves.

The Judge

Judge,

Much appreciated, I figured you'd like it. I have many other details planned for the area also.

It's the CFO who's the problem for these kinds of acquisitions :-) :-)

The Babe is a quasi CFO but when she asks about something she gets the standard response, "Oh Babe, I've had that for awhile. Don't you remember?" 8) 8)

Oh no, Dave!  The A&S (Atlantic & Southern) only has two officers on its Board of Directors - The CEO and the Ticket Agent.  The latter is a lazy lout who does little real work but makes a lot of suggestions.  The ticket agent isn't real busy selling tickets either because the  A&S only has one heavy weight coach and it is out of service most of the time due to flat wheels.  However, there are a number of employees working for the A&S.  Will Fixer is in charge of maintenance and Seaboard ("Always late") Jackson is the passenger conductor.  The brakeman is known as "Shack" and nobody knows his real name.  He isn't expected to last longer than one pay day so nobody cares. He is an experienced "boomer" though - only a thumb and index finger on his right hand.  With a team like this it's no wonder that the CEO received a standing ovation when the A&S declared a $.o1 dividend in June of this year at the annual shareholder's meeting.  The annual shareholder's meeting is temporarily being held above the service station located just north of the Sanlando passenger station.  Eventually, the A&S will construct a Headquarters building in downtown Tahope and shareholder's meetings will be held there.  And that's the inside scoop.

The Judge

Judge,

Great response, and yes, we do have some very colorful workers on the A&S RR.

Wonder if the judge showed this kind of humor from the bench?

I know he did a few times. However, those are his stories.

I've been making some progress on the railroad roundhouse area. I added 10X10 beams for the retaining wall on the coal shed track.

I also made some wall supports with N&Bs.

I spaced the supports and then glued them in place.

The LEDs were wired and all wires were fed down through brass tubes I installed. I'll wire them to the terminal strips at a later date.

I've spent several hours on kit bashing the coaling tower and coal shed.

I finished the coal chutes and added the HO scale chains to the sides.

Prior to moving to the installation of the platforms, I added quite a bit of dark weathering. I first dusted the coaling tower with powered black pigments. I then added a wash of Hunterline Driftwood A&I mix to the powers. I set the entire tower aside to dry for a day.
