The North reverse loop on the second level needs trees in the center of the loop. Trees and bushes need to be added to the blue foam. The photo backdrop needs to go on the wall.

Continued in a few. I'm getting a cold Diet Pepsi.

Greg,

Thanks for stopping by. No, no time to lag or slack off. I can't seem to stop the ball from rolling even if it is uphill.

The deadline Greg is referring to is I want to have some track laid and a train on the third level by January 1, 2018!

The last of the old business is the area where the oil facility is located. An oil platform needs to be scratch built and supporting structures need to be added. Can't forget the supporting scenery details.

I'm getting excited about starting some new projects on the second level of the layout.

I'll be working on this section as I finish the other areas.

The road from the MOW will continue down a portion of the center section.

The road will turn North and run parallel with the single track.

The road and single track will run parallel across the river. The river area will be approximately 3.5 feet across. However, the actually river width, waters edge to edge, will be determined as I build the bridge supports.

The town of Tahope will be located North of the St. Johns River.

I borrowed the roadway from Eaton's Curve area to show how the two will run across the river.

I haven't decided which bridges I'll use for crossing the river.

The first bridge set is two Atlas Through Truss -

The second set is two 40+ year old Campbell Truss Bridges -

The last is an out of production Arched Pratt Bridge by Heljan. I only have one of these so I'd have to use Central Valley Plate Girder Bridges on each end.

Decisions, decisions.

Done for the day posting. Back to the layout work.

It all looks great. I like the first bridge you posted best. Have you decided to do the center pier before the 3rd level?

Curt,

Thanks, I've decided I like the first two.  They look better and are much newer models.

I'm only doing the second level river area and then the third. I may do them both as I go, in 8 foot sections at a time.

Hi Tom,

I am glad your open house went well this past weekend.  I like the first two bridges better also.

Tom,
It struck me funny, watching you model bridges for a scene is like shopping for pickles in a grocery store... You have too many choices! ha.  I like the government approach to modeling.  Why have one, when you can have them all.  Leave no bridge unless it's over a river.  Thanx Thom...

I don't know Tom.....you may have to keep an eye open for some shady real estate developer from Tahope who'll want to buy farmer Perkins land and turn it into subdivisions.   ;)

Been a while since I stopped in.  Looking really great Tom.  First 2 bridges are my pick as well.
