Greg,

Nothing out of the usual for Jim. He is a very nice guy and helpful when asked.

Most importantly, Jim and I have known each other for the better part of 43+ years. He knew me when I was at the lowest part of my life and that was being married to the Flyer and he still liked me. :-X

Nuff said here.

Today I installed two coal chutes using the scale chain.

Very tedious and delicate in working under the coal tower. The two chutes took about an hour each.

More in a few.

I also installed one chain wheel chain.

My metric for "tedious and delicate" is not 'time', but 'cusswords'.  :-)

Tom - I like the clean-out rack.  Nice touch.  Probably need at least two to service three ash pits.  The A&S can work another one into the budget if the CEO approves.

It's the CFO who's the problem for these kinds of acquisitions :-) :-)

Oh no, Dave!  The A&S (Atlantic & Southern) only has two officers on its Board of Directors - The CEO and the Ticket Agent.  The latter is a lazy lout who does little real work but makes a lot of suggestions.  The ticket agent isn't real busy selling tickets either because the  A&S only has one heavy weight coach and it is out of service most of the time due to flat wheels.  However, there are a number of employees working for the A&S.  Will Fixer is in charge of maintenance and Seaboard ("Always late") Jackson is the passenger conductor.  The brakeman is known as "Shack" and nobody knows his real name.  He isn't expected to last longer than one pay day so nobody cares. He is an experienced "boomer" though - only a thumb and index finger on his right hand.  With a team like this it's no wonder that the CEO received a standing ovation when the A&S declared a $.o1 dividend in June of this year at the annual shareholder's meeting.  The annual shareholder's meeting is temporarily being held above the service station located just north of the Sanlando passenger station.  Eventually, the A&S will construct a Headquarters building in downtown Tahope and shareholder's meetings will be held there.  And that's the inside scoop.

Wonder if the judge showed this kind of humor from the bench?

Lucky is the railroad that doesn't have a CFO!
