Here is how it looked after the A&I wash dried.

Diet Pepsi time, back later.

I next moved on to the roof and the rolled roofing. I used Stoney Creek Designs rolled roofing material. I think it is the best on the market as it actually looks and feels like tar paper roofing.

First, I had to do a little house cleaning on the main roof. The roof section that covers the lower portion of the tall portion needed to be notched in the middle.

The notch was required so the LED leads from the top light wouldn't be crimped when the roof was added.

The notch allows the LEd wire lead to fit in the notch and the roof to still fit properly in place.

Great looking patina on the concrete.

Curt,

Thank you for the compliment on the concrete weathering. I wanted it to look like it was stained with coal dust and not just from the loco smoke. I'm very pleased with the finished look.

I used 3M transfer tape to hold the rolled roofing material.

I let if overlap on the sides and then trimmed it after it was in place on the roof section.

Here is how it looks in place.

I did the other side in the same way.

The next roof section was a little tricksie. Here is what I did.

I covered the small roof section as I did the others. However, I added a long bottom strip as seen in the next photo.

Here is how this next section fits on the tower.

To secure this bottom rolled roofing, I used Elmers Glue Stick and applied the glue to the back of the bottom paper piece.

I then positioned this section of roof in place and pressed the rolled roofing onto the other portion of the roof.

I used a new #11 Xacto blade and cut along the roofs left edge. I then folded the rolled roofing over as shown below.

I did the same on the right side.

I added the roofing to the top roof. I was short a little piece of ridge cap so I used some left over red Stoney Creek paper. I painted the red to match the black.

I then added the roofing to the coal shed roof.

Here are a few photos of the tower. The walkway brackets are in place and the entire concrete is now weathered. I still need to weather the roof, add walkways, railings and lower stairs.

You can see the under side is really weathered to represent coal dust and smoke.
