Hi Tom,

Terrific looking coaling tower.  Great progress on the newest addition to the A&S.   ;D  Can't wait to see it in person.   ;D ;D

Bob,

Thanks very much. It's slow going at times but I still try to get 6-8 hours a day out here. The A&S is closed the next two Saturdays so maybe Saturday July 18 if you are available.

Tom ;D

July 18th?  Wow, I'm already 12 days too late.   ;D   I'll try to remember August 18th though.   ;D ;D ;D  That's okay.  This Saturday I have an appointment at the bank for a closing on a home equity line of credit.  We're going to remodel the kitchen next year.  :o

Right now, there are no store hours.

Today I finished the coal tower weathering. I used Pan Pastels to lighten the rolled roofing just so I could darken it again and show some weather streaking.

I spent another hour using a small brush and the Burnt Sienna Pan Pastel for all the stairs, platforms, coal chutes and railings.

I used the same Pan Pastels on the sand drying house roof.

I assembled and then spray painted the sanding towers with Floquil Grimy Black.

The right side of the sand  tower spans two tracks while the left spans one. I'll need to kit bash/scratch the right side to span the two tracks.

ACL 1504,

I like the weathering.  Jussssst right baby bear.  Looking good, one question:  The sand pen is heaping.  How does the railroad fill it to the height?   Thanx Thom...

Thom,

Thanks for the kind comment. The sand is heaping as the bucket loader just left the area, in theory anyway. That is a detail that hasn't been built yet. More on that later in the thread. :-X :-X

All the weathering is great but I like the metal weathering the best.

Awesome looking facilities!!  Great weathering just enough to really show off the structure.
