Ha.....And you rag on my heavy hand on the throttle.  ::) :D

Greg,

His start was fast but your Greg Speed is out there. Nice try anyway.

Tom ;D

Gotta get points for trying..... ;D ;D ;D

Okay, a point for trying and a point for the admission of running Greg Speed.

I mentioned in an earlier post I poured to much Murky Water in the sink hole. The resin leached into the surrounding scenery.

To cover this, I painted some white glue around the water's edge and covered the area that showed wet.

To represent lily pads, I used a scenery product from NOCH. I used the medium green leaf material and sprinkled it on the white glue. This is what I used.

After the glue dried, I used a soft brush to move the excess material off the water surface.

I go back and add more weeds and bushes around the water in the next few days.

Looks great Tom. Before you brushed it off it kinda looked like duck weed.

Curt,

Thank you. Yes, it does look like duck weed. I'll have more later this evening.

While some scenery was drying, I went back to the Cracker house build.

I forgot to mention I used the small ponce wheel from Micro Mark to add nail holes.

I stained the walls with a light coat of Hunterline Driftwood stain.

While waiting for the walls to dry, I painted the door and windows with Polly Scale Reefer White. I didn't  worry to much about covering them with the paint. I left the paint streaky for represent paint peel. When the Polly Scale paint was dry I dipped them in Hunterline Medium Gray and set them on a napkin to dry.

When the walls were dry of the A&I stain, I painted them with Floquil Reefer White. I dipped the brush in the paint and then dipped the tip of the brush in some clean thinner and "stained" the walls with the thinned white paint.

If you haven't noticed, the wall with no door or window opening is upside down. Meaning the lap siding is upside down. When cutting the rear wall, I failed to ensure the lap siding was correct. The good news is I'm sharing my blunder and greater news is that the rear wall is just that, a rear wall. It won't be seen from the isle or by any visitor. Now, if John Siekirk comes over with his stick camera, he may be able to get a shot of the rear wall. ;D ;D ;D

I was up at 5 this morning, another restless night with little sleep. Where are all the sheep that are supposed to be jumping over the fence?

Anyway, I got a couple of hours of scenery done prior to the Judge arriving.

I added a few more trees and shrubs/undergrowth around the area of the murky pond.

Tom,
Your modeling skills are second to none! I just love it.  What do you think, should I tell George you're on way to give him a hand to touch his layout?  ;)  Thanx Thom...

Thom,

You are most kind and your compliment is very much appreciated. Tell Mr. Sellios I'd love to go and help but I need him down here to help me finish for the July 30th NMRA meet. ;) ;) ;)

However, I'll be there for the next Baastan area Expo.
