Here is the Simeon Perkins scratch built farm house. I used George Sellios' white farm house as my source.

I wanted to get the track started from the south end to the center portion of the second level.

This track comes off the #8 left hand curved turnout located behind the small lubritorium building. This trackage will only be used with freight trains. There is a short section of 30" radius curve track leading into a ME #6 left hand turnout. The curved section is 32" radius.

Did I ever mention that level is a good thing when it comes to trackwork?

The spur will be used to service the structure in the photo.

This is my very poor and first attempt to copy one of George Sellios' structures. I saw a photo of this on Ebay about 24+ years ago and decided to copy it.

You will recognize it as the Chippy Hollow Hardware Co. - Kit #260, released in 1989 for $180.00.

I copied the metal side size and made the structure clapboard. I bought a box of Chippy Hollow casting off Ebay for $4.50. You'd probably pay $75.00+ today.

Anyway, I made many mistakes on this model. It maybe doesn't look like it but I know where they all are.

I'm going to use it as is anyway.

You've seen me staring at that one. It's definitely one of my favorites in your collection. I was hoping you were NOT going to use it  ;) .

Your layout is coming along beautifully. I'm in New Smyrna working on mine today.

John,

Yes, you have been staring at this one for several years now. Sorry, it just seems to fit here. First time in 15 years is looked good anywhere on the layout.

Thanks for following along.

Beautiful work Tom.  I love the Orchard.

Curt,

Thanks very much sir. The grove turned out better than I hoped. It's always a bit of guess work in using a commercial tree from WS. These are some of their best. The good news is that I didn't have to rebuild them.

I've been very busy on the layout work and scenery. I've planted more than 60 trees since Saturday afternoon.

I was looking at all the different materials and shades of green and brown in making the trees. I even have a very little orange in one of the mixes.

I'll get all the material together in one picture. Well, maybe two pictures but you will be amazed.

I'll put the photo up later this afternoon.

ACL 1504,
Had a little time between all the hammering, thought I'd stop by and see what's cookin'.  Simeon Perkins scratch built farm house. Wow!  Damn nice job. That's going to be another good scene among many on your AS.
