ACL 1504,
Had a little time between all the hammering, thought I'd stop by and see what's cookin'.  Simeon Perkins scratch built farm house. Wow!  Damn nice job. That's going to be another good scene among many on your AS.

Mistakes?  What mistakes?  I don't see no stinkin' mistakes! Oh wait, I see!  You forgot to scenic the plywood, right? ;D  Stay healthy, give momma plenty of nichols for long shopping days and keep modeling your AS on time!  Thanx Thom...

Trust me grasshopper, they are there.

Momma is way past the nickel stag, she's moved on to the $ shopping. :'( :'(

Trees, trees and more trees. When I was adding foliage to the trees I was trying to keep them separated by size, shape and like colors.

It didn't take long to figure out I didn't have enough space to do what I intended. Once the two boxes were filled, I grabbed any open container I could find to put trees.

I gave up and just put them where I found a space.

I had plenty of broken trees and parts of trees. I added foliage to these also as they can be used for bushes, undergrowth and etc.. I had two boxes of tree parts when finished.

When I finished adding all the foliage to the trees, I was very much surprised how many different colors and textures were used.

Here is a photo list of all the material I used for the tree foliage.

Some of these were used on a single tree and most of them were combined in some fashion to get the color and texture necessary for different tree foliage.

I have no idea where or when I got the little bag of bright green stuff but it mixed well with other colors to give me yet a different appearing tree.

Noch color left to right.

Dark Green Leaf

Medium Green Leaf

Light Green Leaf

Fall Leaf - used just a pinch to give a little brown in the colors.

And the glue to hold it all in place -

Pantene hair spray. It was on sale at Walgreens, buy one get one for $2.00 each.

I got two different to try and they both work as well as the other.

Of course I sprayed the bare tree and then used Hal's Turbo Tree machine to add the foliage.

I added the bushes for the transition from the actual scenery to the photo backdrop.

I then started adding trees. When adding trees I don't secure them in place. I'll add  6 to 12 trees to an area and then sit back and think about how they look. If I like the look, I'll leave them. Sometimes I'll remove all of them and start over.

I know nature doesn't work this way but on a scale layout, they do need to look natural. Just my thinking anyway. It's work out so far. The negative side of doing this is that it takes me quite a bit longer to get my forest of trees.

While I was letting the trees grow on my, pun here, I added the fence posts as seen in the above picture and below.

In this next photo, I changed a few of the trees. I like this look much better. I also added some clump foliage under most of the trees but not all.
